I've seen my fair share of boxes and I have NEVER seen that to protect the vintage newspaper balls I ordered. The seller could be playing games with you. I would get it out of your house, and quick
My daughter reminded me that sometimes, there is even more extra packing material inside those black things so I thought I better check. Sure enough! Look at that plastic wrapping on the top of that ugly stick thing!
