New Build: Walnut Jazz Bass

This is looking great. I went ahead and subscribed as I am going to be building myself a bass with some walnut maple and mahogany as soon as the weather warms up a bit here.

Looking forward to seeing the progress and getting some warm weather.

Killer top! That'll match nicely with the walnut. Nice truss channel, too. Is that one of the rods from Guitar Parts Central? Those are pretty nice.

if that is the top, then purpleheart might look nicer, IMO. Post a mock up of the top/body and the fingerboards you are considering. Either way, this will be a sweet bass!

I love the top wood. If it were me I'd swap it so that the lighter parts were in the center, but that's just a personal preference.

After body halves was plan…no glue…..

Top being glued on body core… I glue up one half then the other..after that..plan…sand..then glue together……

Good job. I'm almost there. I picked up a Delta 6" variable speed jointer for $50 today that's it excellent condition.
