Well... here is the wood for my new neck... African Mahogany / Hard Maple / Bloodwood....

That is quite an insane top on this build! From a purely artistic point of view, I would opt for an Ebony or EI Rosewood fretboard because, with such a wild top, anything else would compete with the stunning visual of the spalted top. Also, the very dark color of the fretboard would "pop" the fine black lines of the spalt itself.....(in my humble and usually worthless opinion)

I was able to get 4 FB...(bloodwood).and two neck blanks from the Lumber...

I recieved my pre-amp today.. routed out the holes on the body...............and yes it will B blk hardware

NICE! Glad to see someone else using mahogany for a bass neck. If you like working with african mahogany you should try the cuban mahogany variety.

Right after jig saw, right B4 router

After router..I use the FB as my template..to taper the neck…

Here I wanted to use my hand tool to get the headstock down to the right size..I felt like it would work better for me this way….I was using my sander, but was not getting the headstock flat…this way I can control it better…

This “rasp” from lowes is pretty good.. ..Shaves the wood off nicely

...welll as I type.. Im spraying "car clear coat and hardner" on it.. the top is some what soft.. in the "white" area of the top... so I wanted to protect it the best way I know how....
