I like to use an abbreviated version of this wet-sanding method to fill the grain ( http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=384222 ) unless I want to use a contrasting pore-filler to achieve a specific effect, in which case my preference is an oil-based pore filler.

Some water-borne pore fillers aren't too bad (Enduro brand WB pore filler was gvery good, but it's been discontinued ), but I like the extra open-time afforded by oil-based.

I'm eager to hear which pore fillers are favored by other TBers.

After wet sand and buff…. I have a question, I had some water (wet sand) get under the finish....what can I do to prevent this from happening again… as a result…there are “dull” spots under the finish…

I usually use low odor mineral spirits as my lubricant when I'm rubbing out a finish that may not react well with soapy water.

I want to know how water infiltrated the finish.

What, exactly, is the "car clear coat and hardner" you used as your finish?
