Water came in through the control cavity area The clear and hardener has no name.. the peeps at the auto supply store most likely pore some clear into a qt can ,same with the hardener from the master container ..I'll double check on the morrow to see if a name is on the can...I usually use low odor mineral spirits as my lubricant when I'm rubbing out a finish that may not react well with soapy water.
I want to know how water infiltrated the finish.
What, exactly, is the "car clear coat and hardner" you used as your finish?

.. so I had to glue the neck in..well what had happen was.. after i drilled out the Neck Mounting Ferrules holes..i seen that the neck pocket was not deep enough.. so I was sanding by hand.. and mannnnnnnnn was taking a long time.. pulled out the router... lol.... and stuff just started to chip AWAY...I already had the wholes.. so I said.. I'll set the neck and put the scews and ferrules back in (not in that order..).. but i just finish shaping the neck .. and not bad at all....learning experience... I'll post the final pics of the walnut build when my bart pickups get in...
