I have come to the conclusion these inspection guys always have to find a fault regardless if its completely necessary.. i guess its all about job security but some of this stuff is so stupid.
I have NEVER had a county inspector come and not find something to fix... glad these things are minor and you can begin to see the light. Not sure they have to inspect the drywall

Here's my flood plan sir.. Here my house...here's the hill. Heres my house on top of the hill. Here's a picture of how water cannot flow uphill therefore you can now kiss my arse
I too have a !@#% house inspector story that I will share next month when we are hanging. Basically- man with wife & 2 girls sell house, buy land, start to build new house on new land, move in with in-laws for 9 months (insert expletives, etc.. here), new house done and waiting for occupancy permit (required by law) inspector.........(to be continued...).

Ah, you've heard this story? Well, close enough, in this case, my building site was about halfway up the hill....and still a good 40' over the top of the small creek at the bottom of the hill.
If the house floods, we will have much more serious issues than what happens to the house - I'll need Noah's freakin' ark!
The 2 or 3 things we were actually a bit worried about having inspected ("oh, crap, that'll set us back if it was done wrong") didn't even get looked at. So on the one hand, I was tickled to see the inspection was so non-rigorous. Of course, on the other hand I'm thinking "what good is this doing anybody?!?!?". And why am I having to pay for it at every turn?!?!? 
Oh, well. With the end in sight on our little project, I'm just rolling with the punches at this point. However, when I get through the project and get a little more comfortable financially, I WILL be seeking out a legal group who's mission is to reverse this tide of bureaucratic B.S. They'll be getting a sizeable donation from me plus whatever other support I can offer. I don't want my kids to grow up in a country where they face this level of nonsense and then some. It only gets worse ever year, we've got to start pushing back somehow. The regulations need to get fewer in number, not greater.
But enough belly aching!! We had drywall delivered this morning, and we have a crew coming tomorrow to get it up on the walls and ceilings!!
Oh, well. With the end in sight on our little project, I'm just rolling with the punches at this point. However, when I get through the project and get a little more comfortable financially, I WILL be seeking out a legal group who's mission is to reverse this tide of bureaucratic B.S. So can I. Both from Fargo, and from my hometown of Milnor (I lost quite a bit in that one). At least in Fargo, I didn't personally lose anything, but I spent many, many hours helping to fight it.
Nothing compared to Katrina, though.
