New cab, GK Neo IV vs Mesa Subway?

In some applications, the low frequency extension is exactly what players are looking for. Especially in larger venue and outdoor applications. Low frequency extension doesn't have to kill a performance, what kills the performance is players who don't understand how to benefit from it.

I'm not sure you should state something as fact without even trying the new GK NEO IV 115 cab. I realize hardly anybody has tried one but they are different than the previous generation.

Yeah I did wonder about that. I would like to know what the current generation sounds like.

Tweeter control is unchanged. I have never needed to make my basses brighter via raising the tweeter levels, although that may be due to my main bass activity these days is sheddin' and jammin with friends in a small space.
A gig may require more treble.

The GK NEO IV 212 is on the way. Looking forward to mixing and matching cabs and discovering the best sound combo's that they will offer.
btw: I attribute at least part of the GK 212 cab purchase to a slight case of GAS..... :)

I had a preorder in on a 115 Neo IV, they first said beginning of this month, then it changed to end of this month. The 210 was available, and I have a Legacy 210 combo, so I went with the matching cabinet. It gets here tomorrow, but my speakon cable won’t arrive until Friday! Torture! We have an outdoor gig Saturday, can’t wait to let it rip!

We have been shipping the latest run since 08/11/2021 so your dealer should have stock now. We also still have some stock here but they are heavily backordered and will not last long.

Yeah, that is indeed true as far as the FIRST generation neo 1x15's go, but have you played through the newer gen. IV neo 1x15 yet? I'm hoping the gen. 4 neo's have more/better bottom end. With the first gen.(GK) neo 1x15 cabs, you'd be better off with/get more bottom end with a 1x10 or 1x12 cab.

That would be my choice, I have 2 custom built 1x12 TL608 with Delta-Lite Neo's and an Ampeg 1X15 TL808 with the Delta-Lite Neo. Much prefer using the 12's more punch and definition also 20 lbs each for easy load in.

The GK Neo IV 212 is a home run IMHO. If you need a loud uber punchy easy schlep this is just an excellent choice. I'm planning on another one for loud outdoor gigs. I've heard and played some of the Subway line, thats just top shelf gear IMHO. If I had a choice I'd grab two Subway 115's in a heartbeat but $$ and size are considerations we all have to balance out.

I had series 3 GK Neo 115 for awhile..applying some EQ can get you there but it wasn't perfect set flat to my ears. I have the new Neo IV 212 and my impression of the new Neo IV drivers that RAG developed are no joke. I can lean into this GK 212 cab and it remains stout and composed. Really solid and punchy and smaller than what I was using before. I'll say this, the new GK cabs are downsized from series 3 and these are punchy as heck and tight and loud.

+1 My experience as well with the Neo IV 212 and at a very reasonable price.
