Gotta love the Carvin Facebook page if you're waiting for one of these things...news from CARVIN is that an even newer bass is in the works...I could be wrong, but they are working on a new bass design (maybe single Cut?)
First of all, sweet bass you've got coming. Second, I know they are coming out with a single cut 24 fret guitar, looks LP like from the pic I saw, so maybe something like that in bass form is coming out? I dunno' I also read somewhere that it's a neck through design. Guess we'll have to wait and see. If it's a 24 fret neck through and they offer the PJ set up, I'm going to have to pull out the credit card.

lol, its is a cool looking bass though. The blocks look too small. I wonder if they would look better on a 4 string.
That's one thing that always drove me nuts about the blocks on their 5vers. I think they use the same size as the 4.
Anyone know if they redesigned the preamp for the P series?
The carvin preamps ALWAYS seem way too hot, even with the trim pot all the way down...
I wonder if this has ever been a complaint to Carvin?
I wind up always selling carvin basses because it's way too hot of a preamp
and always clips my amp too much.

Interesting. Every Carvin I've had I've always been able to use the trim pot to make the volume the same as passive volume.
I tried that and still too hot a signal..

I went passive. I have a slew of great Bass Preamps. The Carvin platform for this design seems perfect to me.
Tons of custom options, perfect string spacing.
They're the only US manufacturer offering this kind of fun at a very reasonable price point

I have two Carvins, a B5 with the older 9v preamp and an Icon 6 with the 18v preamp. Neither is particularly hot. Both sound great.
You can always turn the volume down a little on the bass. I have to do that with my G&L L2000. I keep it on about 80%, perfect.
