Question for you guys with the bridge pickup: how bad is the hum when its soloed?

I have been in the studio the last few days with the fretless PB5 and my Eden WT300. We've finished five tracks, and are writing a few more tunes. Initially five was the goal, for an EP, but we've been writing furiously, and now hope to get a ten song CD completed. So there will be some nice recordings of my PB5. The tone is just thick and rich and meaty. SO fine. The combination with the Eden WT300 is just so awesome. I wish Eden hadn't gone through all the troubles they did. Otherwise, I would never have given up my endorsement with them. I am so in love with the tone. Who knows, this band seems to be on the verge of taking off. Maybe I'll get an Eden endorsement again, now that Marshall owns them and seems to be righting the ship ...

But back to Carvin ... I love this bass more than anything I've owned since my fretless Roscoe LG3005 that was my only bass for seven years. It's a true joy to play, and the tone is to die for.

Not to de-rail, but this looks like Carvin is now offering the P-Pickup on their B50's (and presumably B40's) ?

Something's fishy though, as the mounting screws are not black and the pup option is not yet offered on the Online Bass Builder

Yeah the mounting screws jumped out at me as well. Looked after market, but on their FB page. Weird.

I do not believe that is offered on the PB4/5 at this time, but if they offer the P-Pickup in the B40/50 soon, you should be all set with that!

This should definitely be an option for the B40/50's and also cream pickup covers.

Hmm. Bass Builder says $904, to MY specs.
Cheaper then a Fender.....

Bass Builder does not show the split P as an option yet.
But it seems to be something at LEAST in the works.

B50 came to $779
