Am wondering why the olive went away for couple days, then came back and the blue one disappeared off CME's page? I emailed them 2 days ago, zero response, and this is from my sales guy that i just bought the green one from zzzzzzzzzzz

Im wondering if it's a supply issue (I'm also a bit skeptical with Gibson pre-orders) I know the non reverse were held up for a bit before some hit the market.

you contact cme to buy something, bam right back to ya, ask a touchy question, crickets.......

A Chicago friend did me a favor and went in to check out short scales. He took a pic of the sales guy's card and texted it to me. I called him and left a voicemail. He didn't called me back. So I placed a web order.

Their website chat is only available during business hours, but they're much more helpful on there than calling.

Ok, got some info on them and numbers..

"Hey man - sure thing! Pardon the delay, not sure how I missed this. We actually sold through our allotment of pelham ones pretty quickly! Currently there are 50 of each being made. We might do another batch, but not quite sure at the moment"

That's cool. I know they had 100 blue Mustang basses (because I bought one) but when they arrived had only sold a few dozen. Better to have 50 sell out than more than half of them sitting in a warehouse.

glad i got an olive drab before they sold out ! Would have like to have picked up the Pelham as well but I'm always worried about Gibson pre-orders and real delivery times. I also think it's more likely to see another Pelham run in the future.

I thought the SG basses were made with mahogany necks and bodies. I see CME lists the body wood as agathis on their special run of drab green that is sold out. I thought while available they listed them as mahogany but once sold out changed it to agathis. Has anyone else noticed this? Which is it mahogany or agathis?

On the listing at CME the Olive is back up for pre-order. They are listed as mahogany neck and body. Also is a mention of how these were built wrong by Gibson, were to have neck binding, but didn't. Mine doesn't and i've reached out to CME to see what they are doing about it (hopefully some cash back).

Recently sold mine. I own 3 other SG basses. All super light. The drab green was on the heavy side. As I was unable to get a solid answer as to if it was agathis or mahogany from either CME or Gibson and that it displayed no lacquer grain settling I concluded it was not mahogany and fired it. I would be leary to buy another CME exclusive without seeing it first.
