I had a cherry SG bass and the thing I hated the most was the colour....
I don't care for the olive drab so much, but the pelham is nice (even with the tort)

More like you learn that a Fender style setup covers just about any real world situation you might deal with. Fwiw I've had other Gibson/Epiphone basses that worked. The SG feels great but those current iteration pickups just suck, totally empty sound.FTFY

Fair enough. I (mis)took your initial post as mindless Gibson bashing. I have no personal experience with the current pickups, but I love the sound of the classic ones. FAT at the neck and bark at the bridge. Just hits my ears right.
