I have an Ibanez EHB1265MS with Aguilar pickups and I tried out a Cort Space. Neck profiles are comparable, both have a D profile which is comfortable (though I was hoping for a shallow C like a Cort GB4 that I used to own had). Pickups are an improvement on the stock EHB pickups, about on a par with the Aguilars. If you're after a multiscale or a fretless, or a 4 or 6 string, Cort don't cater for you yet, but for a monoscale fretted 5-string that's 2/3 the price of the EHB equivalent they've got to be worth a look. If I hadn't already got the EHB (and another couple of headless 5-strings) the Cort would have been going home with me.

Not a fan of the ugly burl finish or MK1 pickups, but the shape is a huge improvement over the Ibanez EHB line. I’d be interested in a 4 if it comes in a non-ugly color.

I had an Ibanez multiscale 6 headless and just decided multiscale isn’t for me. I’d buy an Ibanez non-multiscale version if they made it, but the preamp in the Ibanez was meh.

I wonder how it compares to an EHB weight wise. Cort is poplar vs Ibanez basswood? If they are comparable I'll be very interested.

This bass gets a lot of things right, but not everything. The string retainer at the nut could be better. The MK-1’s are not great. I also miss the days when headless basses didn’t flare out past the nut - the neck just used to end rather than looking like 7/8 of the headstock got sawed off.

Still, I want one.

Actually, MK-1 pickups don't sound bad at all. It's the MK-1 preamp that's trash in my opinion. I would immediately replace it if I bought this bass.

I’d think a Trickfish IPA might be a nice preamp upgrade for this.
