its light - Cort Space 5 Star Dust Green - Bass DirectDue to recent back issues that have popped up I've really been looking at these to replace my 10.6 pound Kingston Super 5. Finding anything mentioning weight is next to impossible. One Reverb listing listed it at 9.5lbs which seems a bit heavy. Seeing another member mention it weighing around 7lbs is making this even more enticing.
Ah, 34... Thanks! And how is low B on it? And does Space fit the guitar bag/case?The Cort is 34, and though I'm a long term SR fan, my two new Cort A Series are incredible and so much better value than the equivalent Ibbys, it's hard to fathom.
If Cort brought out a Space 6, I'd be first to buy one.
I don't have one, just basing the comment on the scale on Cort's website and several YT reviews.Ah, 34... Thanks! And how is low B on it? And does Space fit the guitar bag/case?
I see, thanks! Yes, Ibanez top horn is something that catch the eyemy 2 cents : -
the low B is quite playable - i once played a yamaha bass where the low B was so floppy it was terrible - the Cort is nothing like that.
the gig bag is quite nice but I'm a case user and bought a rifle case for it - which works well
I played the ibanez in a local shop and the two things I didnt like was the goofy looking top horn, and the "metal" type tone from the pickups - ( although the the Cort also has a bit of a metal tone on the B string - I plan on a pickup upgrade at some stage coz metal aint my thing.
Waiting for your review!I will get mine soon so let's see how good it is.
Congratulations on the new bass. How is the bridge installation? Is it properly aligned? It arrived today. First impression is how small it is. Like 1/2 inch larger than a stratocaster. I bought a guitar case for it. Active/passive pre just ok. Do its job and can be used without a battery. Probably do the passive tone mod. Right now I'm looking how to intonate it???? Btw lots of bass vs a J pickup. You just can turn the bass down in the pre and Wala! Probably my new go to axe for gigs . Is easy to carry.

What does yours weigh? I bought one on Reverb but received the Star Dust Green even though I ordered the Star Dust Black. After going back and forth if I should just keep the green, I decided to return it and get the one I ordered. While I had the green one, though, I weighed it at 8.6 lbs on my bathroom scale.Well, it looks fine. Everything perfect. Still I'm doing the pups height and overall setup. Already have very good action so finish setup must be fast when I have the time. Still the pups are very bassy for my taste. Can be electronics? Is 250k vol pot? Or maybe the tiny fender rumble, I need to test it with the bassman 800 head. With the active preamp on is easy to set the tone. Maybe I change it anyway with a more kohm vol pot, probably put the active preamp staked to have space for passive tone pot. Still the bridge have a good bite very growly. Maybe a cobalt string get it singing.
On my bathroom scale it weight 8 lbs flat. Hope you get your star dust black. What does yours weigh? I bought one on Reverb but received the Star Dust Green even though I ordered the Star Dust Black.
