New Cort Headless Bass

Has anyone swapped the pickups and electronics?
Always have had considered it but I never pushed through. I learned to make everything work.

But here's a couple i've considered without breaking the bank - Bartolini BH-2 pickups from an Ibanez (dual coil humbuckers instead of the reverse split p-style mk-1's), Final Shape or Kalikot Audio Preamp (both are local preamp builders in my country).

Anyways, it's almost 1 year since I've had my Cort Artisan Space 5. I'm going to probably write / make a video and talk about what it's been like as my main instrument for a year.

I've had a bass that featured a pair of BH-2 (Ibanez SRMS) and while I liked them on that bass I was thinking of maybe going with a pair of single coils. I know Nordstrand Big Single can be ordered to fit this pickup shape and probably many others as well.

I dropped a Nordstrand 3b in mine. The difference was kind of negligible. But, I have John East pres in most of my other basses. I may put one in there and see if it gets me where I want to be.

But in all reality, once the novelty of having a headless bass wore off, it's pretty unremarkable to me. It doesn't get played much and when I start purging to put the deposit down on my custom build, it will probably be moved along.

@doran.dragic i swapped the electronics with a passive Volume-Blend-Tone harness from fatbasstone (kept the Mk1s since I like the sound). 4 solders and done. I also lined the cavity with copper tape. These changes eliminated the hum I was getting from stage lights. I probably won't upgrade it further, even though the initial price leaves good room for upgrades. Its main benefit to me is the small size - easy to transport and no bumping into other musicians when playing. Makes life easier.

I did a full overhaul of controls and pickups. I think this bass is great. I get it in December and played all the gigs with it. Great bass, small because of headless so no more sticking the headstock in other band members. Stays in tune pretty well. Still not truss rod adjustment needed. Low action etc...

I'd also like to get more data on the Cort, but from those that actually have them and put them on a scale. Got a bum left shoulder and appreciate the Ibanez ehbs that pretty consistently weigh closer to 7 pounds.
@robassable 8.3lbs on a scale. If you have a shoulder issue, consider the Ibanez. In your case the extra weight reduction could be well worth it. This bass is fairly light but it's still noticeable on your left shoulder after a few songs. Maybe it's the way it sits more squarely on your body, not sure.
