Sounds awesome. Some serious weight and heft to those notes. The price makes me glad I'm not a Darkglass guy lol.
Yea, I dig it. Sounds killer. A little too much $$$ for me right now though... maybe Santa will bring me one!
I have to agree. I used to love Darkglass, but lately it just all sounds the same to me. And it has a fizzy characteristic I can’t get used to.
look - they have a sound and they lean into pretty heavily. Which I guess makes sense but yeah to me it all sounds like slightly different takes on the same basic bass tone.
Definitely have one of these incoming. I can't get enough of Karnivool's bass tone, and having presets takes this over the top. Will be flipping my Alpha Omega for the added functionality this brings.
For me, I much prefer Nolly's DG tone over Karnivool's. Nothing against Karnivool though.
I love that the the 2 most advanced Darkglass pedals are signature pedals of 2 great artists.
What these guys said… I’ve purchased several DG drive pedals over the years and eventually sold them cause they’re just not my sound. I do play a lot with distortion, but prefer Dunwich and Damnation tones. That being said, I am a long time Hyper Luminal user and will buy another DG drive pedal when they do a different tone profile.
Looks smart. DG makes it convenient to achieve heavy tones in a mix or going direct. I have to appreciate that DG aren’t in the business of making the same old preamps based on ampeg, fender. or fuzz and drive circuits
Question. Can anyone describe the distortion modes a bit. Thinking of getting one of these or the Adam. I like that the Adam has some distortion choices that are in fuzz territory so I could have 3 channels setup for clean, drive, and fuzz. I bought the original alpha omega years ago when it came out and like it a lot but haven’t really heard if the photon can get into all out fuzz territory like the Adam can, or if it’s mainly the alpha omega sound?
Also. Are the cab sims the same or can I download the cab sims from the Adam?
