1) I believe all the NEON's have always been with the K3 coating.
As for the K3 Black Beauties / Red Devils / Cool Blues / Silver Stars... All of my recent stock of Black Beauties has come with the K3 printed on the package... on Red Deviles / Cool Blues / Silver Stars, a K3 sticker is applied. Some newly packaged "Fresh sets" are missing a sticker though... so it can vary I suppose.
2) See above...
They're not Neon Red but they are red.Ah, I really wish there was a red. I have a MusicMan SUB that's red (that matte texture), and I don't think green, yellow, pink or orange would look all that great. I have a black Aerodyne Jazz that I'm definitely going to put some on, but the SUB is my main bass right now.
Currently have Black Beauties on there though, and I LOVE them.

They are pretty bright red! I will try to snap a pic...
But on a flat red bass, Put Yellow or Orange on there... or even BOTH! Then you can get some kind of flame action going!
I looked at them when I first got the bass, but decided to try the Black Beauties first. Definitely still interested though.
That'd be great. I love how the neon ones pop, but I'd probably be ok with a super bright red haha. Would certainly match my setup:

I think the Pink Neon's would actually be pretty cool on your setup... but it could be the color balance either in the picture or on my monitor here...
Now that I am back in the office I am gonna get that pick of the Red.
Its really cool! I dig the Henry the 8x8! If you ever get really bored, pull a speaker and jam a black light in there... It will glow through the ports and around the rim of the speakers and look really wicked...
Forgive the picture from 1997, but you can kind of see the black light installed like this in my Super Redhead: (I WISH I had these NEON strings back then!).

(if you really did want to put a black light in there... you basically need to bolt it to the back wall or on the bottom and top to really get the effect... you don't want it directly behind a port otherwise people will be looking directly at the black light bulb and you wont get the glow).
