Did I say there were rules broken? I did not.
I simply issued a reminder to folks that tone and intent can be difficult to discern, and that getting worked up ain't necessary. In that same spirit, if you don't need the reminder, you are free to ignore it.
Marching to a fan club tune isn't necessary. But coming into any thread just to crap on what others like or might be interested in is not nice and can often send threads bad directions. I'd rather give a friendly reminder early than infractions late.

I am sorta surprised people are balking at the price. I think given the limited run and the desire for short-scale versions of popular basses these will actually get flipped.
The price looks right to me. I'm not a Music Man guy for basses but I am for guitars... I wish I could buy another Axis for that price.

I would certainly like to try out one of those Stingrays, but I wouldn’t spend that much without playing one first. I buy a lot of basses from TB members without playing them first, but almost never short scales. While I have a decent sense for what most long scale basses will be like before I play them, I find that short scale basses often feel/play/sound very differently than I anticipate. Now, if EBMM came out with a medium scale model, I don’t know if I could resist ordering one immediately!

$300,000 gross in probably well less than a month, possibly less than a week. I’d guess they have less than $1200 in these, so $150,000 net.
They do these special runs with a couple other bass models & guitar models also, and all their other models are available as usual. I don’t know the number selling, but I do know these special runs sell out quickly. I’m guessing they have an adequate number of people interested.
Aren't these more or less the same price as a new Stingray Special? Kind of surprised they aren't charging more honestly, I'm sure some would pay.
I don't think I'd ever buy a Stingray new but that's just me. Too many good deals on used ones of you're patient. But I get short scales Stingrays are a niche thing.

I tried one and my GAS immediately subsided. Great looking and sounding basses, sure. But unless you're staying below the 5th fret I found them to be incredibly awkward to play.
Medium scale, yep might be the ticket!
I really like these, and might be tempted to get one, but I am bummed that there is no way (that I could see) to get a weight estimate before buying one. Knowing the weight before buying something this expensive is essential for me these days.
