Two knobs are Notch (choose frequency) and Phase (variable to 180 degrees). Two buttons are Notch and Phantom Power, (on/off).

3) What about bassists who double, but would like to use a mic/pickup combo for DB (with separate gain/EQ etc. on each), but also want a separate channel for EB? - The 'Tripler'?

4) Headphone output with an external XLR aux input that can be mixed with the bass signal to the headphones. I recently did a theatre production where it was a 'cans only' setup. Being able to have taken a feed from the sound desk directly into the amp and mixed with the bass sound in the cans would have saved a lot of faffing around with headphone amps etc.

Hi,

here are some suggestions/work arounds:

Cutoff frequency: I would leave the cutoff alone and adjust the amount of bass with the "bass" tone control, not with the cutoff frequncy (smoother tone)

1) Tuner would make the amp much bigger. I always carry a little SOS from planet waves with me.

2) Mute the amp with the foot pedal.

3) I would think that you can blend in any pre-amp that can drive a power amp into the effect return and mix it with the pre-amps of the doubler. You can also get the doubler and the pro, go from the effect send of the pro into the return of the doubler, mix both signals, and go from the line out into the return of the pro. That way you would have three channels into two power amps with independet volume for each power amp and 1700 W total.

4) iamp pro could do that (get an adapter to use the mini input on the front) .

I don't get it....:hmm:

All these wonderful knowledgable people can tell us all these wonderful things about this new amp.

Two days ago Jeremy suggested that the HPF is actually a small set screw and isn't even on the front of the amp.

Can anybody confirm or deny this or speak to how they believe the final product may differ from the prototype?

I hope it's a knob and not a screw (for their sake). From my experience and posts here, I think HPF setting is not a personal preference but varies by room.

When woodshedding I turn my HPF all the way down. I might boost it up some for band practice. In the concrete and tile wine bar we've been playing in lately, it gets boosted more. I'd hate to have to carry a geek screwdriver to adjust the hpf.

Not that it makes any difference for me. I've got the Micro 300 and fdeck's hpf-pre. So I'm set for the moment.

I can tell you if this is in fact a real knob and the unit hits the shelves noise free I will be buying one....

I'm most interested in a clean warm sound with what looks like a much more usable eq than AI gear. I find the clarus lacking in eq options for my bass. I adjust lows and low-mids more than frequencies that fall below 50 hz, but that's just me.

It would be great if someday the added the new dual input/switching features were incorporated into iamp pro eq sections, that would be ridiculous...

Bob is taking orders, so I'm sure he knows.Within 2 weeks I'm told.The HPF indeed is accessible on the top via a screw type pot. There was no way that they could get everything on the front panel. The HPF is a 6db per octave from 22 to 54 hz. Now I've used a Fishman Dual Parametric with the Micro. I use one of the parametric channels as kind of a HPF. My thing is that in order to get my G string thick enough sounding for my taste I have to turn up the bass eq to a point that my E string is too low end heavy. I set one parametric channel to about 30 hz at about half to one octave width and down say maybe 4 to 6 db. I'll have to look at it, but after fine tuning it I don't change the parametric settings.I just vary the amount of bass boost on the Micro for the room. If I'm not mistaken, the bass control on the Micro or Doubler is not shelving. The good thing about this is that the low end boost dips off at a point. I think that a 6db per octave HPF can function similarly. I'm an eq nut (if that's not already apparent) and with the combination of the bass control and the HPF I can really get the balance across the strings that I like. My point is that although the HPF is not front panel accessible, for me, the screw driver pot is ok.

Imminently (any day now, repeated :hiding:).

EA was just waiting for a couple final bits to arrive to start building Micros and Doublers. iAMP Pros were supposed to start shipping this week but I haven't spoken to them since last Thursday.

Hey Mike Arnopol

When do you get your bass from Luciano? I'm very interested and I'm toying with the idea of commisioning him to build a bass. I love what I've heard of his basses so far. Did you go to Italy to discuss your ideas with him?. How long does it take for construction to be finished and does he have a lot of work lined up??
