the one he plays has a Lane Poor Legacy. They are hard to get, this must be why. Fender is buying them all up.
look up his gear rundown and you can see the bass.

Totally agree. Make a Stingray with a Lane Poor spec pickup and whatever else he wants. Flea played MM for a long time. How did they miss out?

I would rather a Spector Sig, from his 80s stuff- but this will do.

EBMM killing off the big al, sabre, reflex and honeyburst is the real travesty.

I’ve been a huge Flea fan since Mother’s Milk first came out; and to me that tone he had on that album was one of his best; and it was a Spector Bass with jazz style pickups. I own a Spector NS4 and I can achieve his tone on that album going through a GK Rb head.

Now the new Fender Flea sig bass is basically Leo’s invention the best of both worlds a Jazz and a Music Man. Hopefully it’s made in the US.

I'm not after his sound but it might surprise if pushed out of it's boundaries. and it's pink!

I will probably buy this. I had a Modulus FU4 loaded with a legacy lane poor. Great bass, but I never could dial out the 'graphite sound' and really missed the sound/feel of a wooden neck. Hopefully there will be a few color selections, but I wouldn't mind shell pink I suppose.

Sad to say that they do not play that song live, and if they have I can't find any evidence of it. Funky Monks, which also requires a 5 string, hasn't been played live since John left the band.

Neither a aguilar AG4M like the flea custom one in the early month ( before he switched to legacy pickup , same pup than in his modulus )
