Oh, Player Plus replacement ....... but the Yellow PJ look cool ! Well match with yellowish maple neck. And no longer with sexy silver decal on headstock anymore,

Edit.
9.5 radius fretboard for Pj bass ? But the noiseless bridge J pup has no raise A /D magnet design , this will cause A/D string sound weaker than E/G. The Player plus seem know how where she has 12 ' radius fretboard.

Even my Charvel Pro Mod PJ has 12-16' compound radius fretboard, i still need raise both A/D magnet pole slightly ( Dimarzio Model J ) for best string to string output balance.

Seems like it, but they now have a passive tone control which I think is a nice upgrade.
Yeah, that was by far my biggest complaint with the previous line. Seems like a strange thing to leave out, especially since others like Sire have been including passive tone controls on active basses for years while charging a lot less money. I'll definitely have to try these out once they hit local shops. All the necks on the Player Plus basses I tried felt outstanding.

Just saw an ad for this new Fender line. Is it just a new name for the player plus series?

No. There are small, but some might say important changes, and because it's a Fender instrument, obviously a lot of similarities, whether out of conceptual or corporate laziness, or keeping things, ahem... "familiar" for Fender bass players...

This aint player plus, its a new series. I see bridges and features that are typical aftermarket upgrades/mods, like high mass bridges etc.
Decent enough, albeit a bit boring.

Still waiting for a matching headstock precision in the 2000ish category.
