Just saw an ad for this new Fender line. Is it just a new name for the player plus series?

Yeah. Where's our bass whammy, Fender???In terms of bass, yes, they're just active players like the Player Plus used to be. For guitar, they actually added some new features like the Floyds.
IKR, i am a sucker for every bright yellow finish with a black pickguardDayum that yellow PJ is tasty lookin'
Seems like it, but they now have a passive tone control which I think is a nice upgrade.Just saw an ad for this new Fender line. Is it just a new name for the player plus series?

Yeah, that was by far my biggest complaint with the previous line. Seems like a strange thing to leave out, especially since others like Sire have been including passive tone controls on active basses for years while charging a lot less money. I'll definitely have to try these out once they hit local shops. All the necks on the Player Plus basses I tried felt outstanding.Seems like it, but they now have a passive tone control which I think is a nice upgrade.
No. There are small, but some might say important changes, and because it's a Fender instrument, obviously a lot of similarities, whether out of conceptual or corporate laziness, or keeping things, ahem... "familiar" for Fender bass players...Just saw an ad for this new Fender line. Is it just a new name for the player plus series?

Didn't the player plus series have all these features? Three band eqs with the switch, high mass bridge, etc...This aint player plus, its a new series. I see bridges and features that are typical aftermarket upgrades/mods, like high mass bridges etc.
Decent enough, albeit a bit boring.
Still waiting for a matching headstock precision in the 2000ish category.
There is no mention of the nut width on either. What's the width of the P?The harvest green looks freakin nice. Wish they offered Jazz width nuts on the P bass, though…
Sweetwater says 1.625” (TUSQ).There is no mention of the nut width on either. What's the width of the P?
