Yes, clearly, we are snobs if we don't like over-priced, kids basses with stick-on pickguards.
I got my Fleabass (in blue...it's actually custom painted now: http://s387.photobucket.com/albums/oo319/MiamiFins42/?action=view¤t=img55885117.jpg no actual picture of it yet) for $350 dollars. And they're not $600, they're $500 (retail). Big difference.
And I have to say, I love mine. I have an Ibanez Gsr200 which recently got fitted with new dimarzio p/us and a squier P bass that is also fitted with a dimarzio pickup (split P to be exact). and both just don't give me the aggressive tone i really want from my bass. I still have the stock pickup and just put on some GHS bass boomers and the bass plays the way I want it to. Yeah the pickguard is taped on/glued on. but..who cares? it holds just fine and its purely aesthetic. You can take it off, remove the glue, and it looks just as fine. Theres no huge cavities or anything so you might as well. And as for Flea having his own line of basses that are ugly? So what, let him do what he wants to do. He's a very talented bassist and likes to "out there". The basses are very showing of his character, and having a bass "OMG flea plays!" thats $500 is slightly more attainable than his Modulus signature series ($2000 difference...no biggie)

money puts food in my belly, allows a nice roof over my head, a decent car / badass Harley, vacations, ect
Your labors and desire does that mate, money facilitates its. Also, money doesn't create problems, our Fears and Desires do.
