New FleaBass Colors! (AWESOME)

Yes, clearly, we are snobs if we don't like over-priced, kids basses with stick-on pickguards.

100% agree

don't sell me a hyundai pony telling me its a BMW.

There are some things that just are, if the quality control sucks then i'm sorry its a piece of crap.

I'm not a snob either i play a peavey milestone in my jazz combo.... At least for 230$ i got a real pick guard.

It disappoints me that basses like this exist, stuff like this dean metalmans etc... are just here to fool dumb teenagers who like the look but have no real substance.

You can get a squire vintage modified, peavey millennium bxp, Ibanez BTB, Ibanez atk, Yamaha bb etc.... for cheaper or just as much

Its not snobiness its just not being stupid.

Over here they retail for 600$

$600?!?!? really?!?!? wow, thats a shame , a bass aimed at kids with schoddy craftsmanship (i mean come on...TAPE?!?!) when that kid could pickup something (that will last) on CL for half that. i guess ive seen it all, im a huge snob with my Squier CV P that costs HALF of what the Fleabass costs. Ill take the pepsi challange, id LOVE to see how these fleabasses hold up like after a decade, but i know my CV will be just as good then as it is today. if one holds up as well id be shocked

I got my Fleabass (in blue...it's actually custom painted now: http://s387.photobucket.com/albums/oo319/MiamiFins42/?action=view&current=img55885117.jpg no actual picture of it yet) for $350 dollars. And they're not $600, they're $500 (retail). Big difference.
And I have to say, I love mine. I have an Ibanez Gsr200 which recently got fitted with new dimarzio p/us and a squier P bass that is also fitted with a dimarzio pickup (split P to be exact). and both just don't give me the aggressive tone i really want from my bass. I still have the stock pickup and just put on some GHS bass boomers and the bass plays the way I want it to. Yeah the pickguard is taped on/glued on. but..who cares? it holds just fine and its purely aesthetic. You can take it off, remove the glue, and it looks just as fine. Theres no huge cavities or anything so you might as well. And as for Flea having his own line of basses that are ugly? So what, let him do what he wants to do. He's a very talented bassist and likes to "out there". The basses are very showing of his character, and having a bass "OMG flea plays!" thats $500 is slightly more attainable than his Modulus signature series ($2000 difference...no biggie)

/rant :)

The key word was HERE not 600$, i live up north in Mooseland

fair enough, my apologies. Either way...to each their own. I got a deal on the bass so the purchase made sense to me...Theres others that would prefers SXs, Squiers, Peavey, Yamaha, etc. Not every bassist likes the same bass...(still doesn't explain how Flea is at an "all time low" for going ahead and making his own bassline).

you people crack me up with all the trippin' on the way that the pickguard is attached,, while two sided tape / adhesive is a perfectly acceptable ( & prefered ) method for attaching ramps on very high end basses, plus i also love to see all the jazzes out there where somebody thinks that their jazz looks jazzier without the pickguard & yanks it off leaving all the stupid looking screw holes & are oblivious to the fact that it looks like crap,,, jaco anyone ??

i've been flipping ALOT of basses for a number of years & i'm sure that the quality is pretty much on par as any other mass produced, lower priced instruments,, hell,, i've personally seen scores of ( dare i say ) your beloved american made fenders hanging in shops with very poor quality issues as well. ( gasp )

with that said, i'd rock the **** outta one of these cheapies on stage for sheer shock value alone

Five hundred??? Bummer. I thought these were more affordable, yeah now I'm on the hating bandwagon. Ibanez, squire, schecter, boy I can think of a lot more manufacturers making much better quality affordable beginner basses.

Your labors and desire does that mate, money facilitates its. Also, money doesn't create problems, our Fears and Desires do.

thanks for trying to school me in your ideals, but haven't had to labor for money in quite some time

was actually applying the kiss approach " keep it simple stupid " without delving too deep into my personal philosophies on infinite supply mon

now back to our ongoing i'm jealous of flea thread
