New FleaBass Colors! (AWESOME)

i have to say I am jealous of him. Minus the whole being pretty drugged up in the 80s and stuff...not my slice of cheese. but the dude is making mad money. everyone could do with more money. I just think that he must've left Modulus and his signature line there behind because he wasn't making enough money from it...they're expensive basses! probably didnt make a lot of profit of purchases compared to what he can make of his own line.

hell of an effed up outlook if you ask me ( & i know you didn't ask )

money puts food in my belly, allows a nice roof over my head, a decent car / badass Harley, vacations, ect

And I'm sure you work hard for it. No sarcasm. Thing is, Flea had plenty of money before he put these basses out. My first bass was an MIM P that cost me $200 used in 1991. It was a nice enough bass. Today, adjusted for inflation, it would have cost me $300 or a little over half of what a new Fleabass goes for. My son's Squier Bronco cost $90 bucks used when I bought it for him a few years ago. It's a little blah, but it's a playable instrument. I don't see how the Fleabasses help get kids into music by putting an affordable, playable, kid-sized instrument into their hands, which is Flea's stated reason for putting them on the market. I've bought much, much nicer basses for $500.

One time I found a fender at gc that had the chrome Jack plate on the edge/bottom of the bass installed wrong. It was too far to one side and I couldsee into the hole in the wood on the edge of the plate. But yeah, fleabass has the WORST craftmanship because of it's tape.

I agree that they are overpriced, but I love the soundclips of these things! The one I had the chance to get my hands one was in fact, well set-up and felt pretty good. $500 good? Probably not quite, but if they were $150 or so cheaper, I'd get one for sure.

with bright NEON colors like that (since no other company wants to make them ), they are collecting 499.95 from a ton of people.

it could be a square shaped pine neckked POS and people would STILL drop 1/2 a grand on one...why?

for NO OTHER REASON except the mentality of "Flea plays one you should too".... Our GC is so into trying to sell them they offer a DVD, bag, cord, strap AND a 25% discount coupon for your next purchase....

..I'm surprised they don't offer a crackle finish since these colors are very reminiscent of the 80's wild-color-graphics days of Kramer/Jackson ..etc.

& it's the EXACT SAME mentality that;

victor wooten plays one you should too, to the fodera marketers
marcus miller plays one you should too, to the fender marketers
jaco played one you should too, again to the fender marketers
adam clayton plays one you should too, to the lakland marketers
gary willis plays one you should too, to the ibanez marketers
& on
& on
& on

it's just that so many people ( snobs ? ) bag on flea so much here that it's unreal
