I honestly thought the little Shuttle combos may never come back, and when I first started getting into the new age of amps and cabs, I ALWAYS though the Shuttle combos were one of the best small designs going. Turns out the Streamliner and Shuttlemax are also great designs and I still have them and would not part with them.

Whilst I don't need a new Class - D amp in the higher wattage ball park (and if I did, I think it would be the Magellan 800) the new combo looks really good. I'm very impressed and I haven't heard it yet!

For those looking for a high quality combo with more flexibilty, this is surely it!

Have you had the chance to try the new combo yet, or do you have to wait for the release date?

I have tried it (Jeff visited the shop a couple months ago with his final prototypes), and I do not doubt that people will be impressed. I'll not go further into it, though, as I am a dealer for Genzler Amplification.

It has only a master carry handle on the top/back edge. Nothing on the sides.

I used a GB Shuttle combo which I sold when I stopped gigging for a while. Now playing again, this looks to be the ideal replacement for my needs. I have a Magellan 800, but it is overkill for swing band work. Any issues with the previous combo have been addressed - the cradle is easily added or removed from the cab, and a regular Speakon rather than captive lead is used. Perfect! Carry bag: wonderful! Just one question: the drop to 350 Watts. I am confident it is enough for my needs, but it is quite a drop from the Shuttle's power rating. Will advances in Class D module and power supply design compensate at all? Edit: not in any magical sense of course, but the same level of output solidity found in the most excellent 800.

Not a problem, but I am just curious.

Maybe it's my earbuds but the audio in this clip sounded very distorted? I have my Magellan 800 and LOVE it, so this is like Shuttle 3.0 but with the MG form factor?

that sounds like the strings rattling against the frets to me.

Yes, I just hear the bass tone. The tweeters give more clarity than is usual perhaps and it sounds a bit more like recorded DI bass. Is that what is being heard?

Just for some background, the new Bass Array10-2 uses proprietary Neo 2.5" cone drivers (not tweeters) which we developed for use in this ultra-small enclosure along with the custom designed Eminence 10" Neo woofer. With the Bass Array design, this array column is producing the important mids and highs. We were able to increase the sensitivity of these little drivers with some internal modifications and using a "sealed back" basket design. And with inverted dust cap we're able to get top end extension out to approx. 20K Hz. The overall response is exceptional clarity with more top end extension. Because these are not tweeters but cone drivers, the response these drivers produce (even the very top end) is much smoother and more musical than conventional tweeters. This clarity is evident when using double bass, passive or active electric instruments.
In our video, Mike Frost is using one of his several Clifford Roi basses. It's a very dynamic and beautiful instrument.

Sorry, my poor terminology on account of looking after a HiFi forum. I meant the array drivers. I still do not hear any distortion from the combo.

It should be perfect for EUB/big band work which is what I am interested in. I see another change of gear approaching.
