Can anyone comment on comparing the Shuttle 10 cab with the new 10-2 array? I have the 3-10T combo.....the 10-2 looks a bit larger and heavier......am I wrong in assuming it can get louder and a bit lower?

The answer is yes. a little bit Larger and Heavier, but much louder and deeper. The array is really amazing. Great and clear high/mids with awesome dispersion. Tons of low end from the 10" speaker. The combo hangs with a drummer no problem. I don't bother to use an extension cab most of the time.

Don't get me wrong, the BA10-2 on it's own is a real "surprise" with its LF depth and mid and top end detail in such a small package.

I have an older Genz Benz Focus 1x15 cabinet with Shuttle 6.2 amp, which sounds great, but the cabinet is a bit bulky to transport and now that I am playing upright anything I can do to carry less is better. I am getting a BA 1x10 cabinet to be my new more portable rig. For most of my gigs the 1x10 is all I need. If I needed more air moving I wonder if I could stack the 1x15 with the BA 1x10. Maybe I would turn the tweeter off on the 1x15. Are they issues with mixing and matching cabinets?

Mixing cabs can sometimes work brilliantly, and other times, not so much. It depends on a few things. The most important one is any "baked-in" character in the cabs. If they are a particularly "voiced" cabinet, something with its own "sound" (like an old Ampeg, 1st Gen SWR, etc.) then you might find yourself using a bit more EQ to make the cab sound like you want it to. If that's the case, and you mix it with a different cab with a different character (for which you'd EQ somewhat differently) you'll find yourself compromising to find the EQ that can suit the two disparate cabinets together.

The cabinets you mention (the Genz Benz and Genzler cabs) are probably not too concerning on that front; I don't know the Focus cab all that well, but the Genzler Bass Array cabs are pretty neutral and can be dialed in without a lot of EQ. So you should be okay with that combo.

YMMV, IMO, etc.
