Well, they are both "Flat" feeling strings. The Nylon wrap is smoother to the touch than touching flat Metal.
Generally tapewounds are more flexible and have a very different tone from flats.
It depends on the tapewounds. They can be bright and snappy like rounds but without the sizzle. Full and tubby sounding.
I haven't played the white nylon yet and I shipped my original demo set to a customer. I was lucky enough to get a few sets early so will be trying it this week.
I'm gonna put them on my Carvin LB90 as soon as I get home. I've never been good at describing tone, but I'll try. I'll also try making a video, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope for my phone's recording ability.
So the tone, I suck at describing nuances, but I like it, a lot. Super deep and thumpy with the tone turned down. Bright with the tone up. Which pretty much describes any string, but it is what it is. I think theyre brighter than the black tapes as advertised. Definately not as woody. Zero finger noise. Super smooth, even smoother than black tapes. Very low tension it seems. Almost a bit too low for me, but perfectly playable. I don't know what else to say really. Here are some pics.

Very cool! Should add that you got the light gauge 50-105. The heavier set will give you more tension.
Tapes are generally darker with less tension & an inconspicuous, gentle attack, almost a bouncy or sponge-y tone for lack of a description. The furthest possible from roundwounds or the Marcus Miller sound, even darker & softer than your Chromes.
Yup. But anything bigger than 105 doesn't fit in the e string nut slot. They're certainly not floppy though, I just like super high tension generally. They're awesome so far. I'll give these some time. Maybe eventually ill get the heavier set and have the nutslot widened. But they really are great. I just tried to record from my phone but the audio is horrendous. I wouldn't wanna misrepresent how awesome they sound with a crappy clip.
Another note in finger noise. Even with the smoothest tapes and flats I've tried, there's always at least some finger noise. With these you can try to get finger noise out if them, and you can't. Gripping the string between two fingers and moving down the strings produces absolutely no noise out of my amp.
But even that heavy set isn't very stiff.
Tapes are pretty much all very light feeling.
