Neat! I hope they didn't do what some others value priced brands do and way over rate the output.
And what's with the smiley face curve on the graphic EQ?That would get buried in a mix!

Good to see the GC house brand try and step up... I fear it might be too late for the company though.
It will never be too late for a major company that has the ability to stock on their floor what they CHOOSE to put on their floor.
Unfortunately I dont think that is true for the brick and mortar stores. They have lost/cancelled a few major contracts. GC has closed a number of stores, and have started to get a bad name.
There are 7 GC stores within a 100 mile radius of where I live and 5 in a 30 mile radius... they seem to be thriving here.
Strangely off-brand for what they've seemingly been trying to do since reviving the name.
The rest of the company's financials over the past couple of years do not reflect that. Their own web sites are putting their stores out of business.

They have? They sure seem to be chugging along just fine out here somehow. I'm not sure how much they actually sell or what kinds of profits they actually make per square foot. The one between work and home has seemed a little less well-stocked, but not that much recently.
What contracts have they lost? I saw just about everything you would expect there last time I passed through, but I'm hardly an inventory checker.
Gotta love how they copy the style & look of high-end equipment. The slant-face head with the graphic EQ in the middle? Copy of a Phil Jones bass head. The combos seem to steal some styling cues from Mesa. The linked webpage says the new bass cabs feature "rugged plywood construction", good for them. Sounds like they're stepping up their game and trying to improve their rep for quality.
I have one of their little practice amps and I like it. I think it's good equipment for what it is: low end, low cost stuff for beginners and hobby players.

That's a great effort. It ticks all the boxes that I look for. Tuner out and a mute, decent looks, and I like the angled front. I had an Ampeg PF-500 for a bit, and it was a bit too big for me, but I liked the slight upturn of the faceplate. These small amps usually sit on top of one large cab or two small, and it makes sense to angle it up. Not exactly cheap, $700 for the 1000watt, but not awful. Overall I think it's a nice new product to have out there.

I think the big appeal of their later products was the super low price, so this may be a huge hurdle for them. That's entering Markbass/GK/Tecamp/Mesa price territory - better be a great sounding product to compete in that market.
Where can you get a TecAmp 1000W amplifier for $700? Sign me up! I saw one Puma 1000 on Reverb for $880, which is close...

Maybe I should have said approaching instead of entering, I thought my point was fairly straight forward. I did not mean dollar for dollar, sorry for not being dollar specific, I forgot where I was.

RE: GC. I have had a generally but mildly dim view of GC for awhile. As counter-point I recently visited a GC to trade out some stuff for an amp I wanted and was treated famously and came away with a very good deal. Boosted my opinion of GC quite a bit. Anecdotal I know and maybe they won't even speak to me next time I come in. Who knows.

+1 Guitar Center has been given a death sentence for the last ten years and if they are dying I hope it takes me as long to do so.
The owner of a local music shop where i live has a beautiful acoustic rig. The cab has an 18" speaker and a horn. He let me play through it once and sounded gooood. He says it was built in pennsylvania and he knows the guy that built it. He says that acoustic is going down in quality however and using more Chinese components. Says gc is largely to blame. The guy who built is rig is no longer contracted by acoustic apparently.
Aw it's not like that, I just got excited. I get your meaning in your original post.
