Oddly enough, I JUST bought the bottom one. It should be here Monday.
If it plays HALF as nicely as the Geddy that I played in guitar center, I will have gotten more than my money's worth for sure.
Geddys have too many *gotta have its* for me to replace that GAS niche w/anything else- super-slim neck, 70s PU spacing, black-blocks-on-maple, and the capper- that decal. This bass should come w/a pair of super-bell pants.
I'll have to see it in person before I know if I have GAS. Fender's pics they take for their site just sometimes look weird. I want to see some third party pics.
same here - I don't like j basses without the guard. A white pg on that red flame top would be sweet.

Are the blocks/binding true inlay or painted on the newer ones? (I remember Nino's thread showing the older ones were not paint, but then it changed. Has it changed back?)

That's actually the first bass in sunburst I've EVER seen that I actually like.
Now, if they made one in Oly white with a black pickguard, I'd sell all my other basses to get one!

Geddy did very briefly use an oly white/brown shell bass with a rosewod board at the start of the TFE tour. This would be cool to see with the maple board/black blocks.

I've wanted a Geddy Jazz forever and have steadily watched the price climb and climb. The black/white is what kept me away. I wanted the sunburst bass as used on Driven and Beneath the Wheels.
And now it's here and it's more than I paid for my '06 Rickenbacker.
This is some gas I can pass on, regardless of how AMAZING it looks and plays.
