Sorta/kinda; Jason told me to set the distortion low and it should be comparable; I think it sounds similar but tough to tell with A/B-ing them side by side......

I think kinda sorta is as close as you're gonna get. They're different beasts, and the distortion is not identical at all, but in general the Legacy is pretty darned close to an older RB sound, IMO.

Your probably right. It’s just would be helpful if there was some guidance to get them close. I think part of the problem is some of the knobs have very different names which adds to the confusion.

I’m sure over time that “guidance” will show up here as more RB players acquire Legacies. It would be fun to A/B them but I don’t have any RB’s left, only MB’s - and they’re pretty different.

I love the sound of the gk legacy 800 but the output is low anyone have any suggestions for getting the most out of this amplifier?

If you turn the level clockwise it seems to make it a lot louder.

I’d be interested to hear what other people’s setting are.

I can't believe that, I have my master at 11 o'clock annd its loud as hell 4 ohm load????

What is your cabinet set up and how are your controls set.

I'm using Mesa Subway cabs 12 and 15, I stack the 15 on top of the 12 so I can feel the thump better!

How are You’re controls set, including the impedance switch? Those are good cabinets so that rig should be really loud.

I have the trim maxed, bass, treble flat, mids between 1 and 2 o'clock, 4 ohm load with both cabs, 8 ohm with one cab..oh and bump and presence and contour on..

It was great with no pedals but recently added a hpf always on, lpf as needed and a bass soulfood pedals, I have the keeley comp but havnt needed it, I might sell it..

You say it is fine without the pedals so I would look at the pedals. Where is the master set?
