Where is the super duper like button?
Please do tell when it arrives. We want pics and information about how the amp sounds and feels. My biggest question is will it do that 700RB grind?
will do! it's going up against my Trickfish .5K when it arrives.

Sticking with my MB Fusion 800 twins, 560w into 8ohms bests the Legacys and this IS important to me as I run each into its own NEO212 which are 8ohms.

Definitely weird, doesn't seem right (the marked output on the Legacy 500)?
I just spoke with the always-helpful Jason at GK, and apparently the wattage/impedance values printed on the amps (in the Sweetwater pics) are correct. It's all rather complicated (to me), and has to do with the nature of the power supply technology, but the "sweet spot," in terms of power output, for the Legacy 500 is 2.7 ohms, not 8 ohms. The Legacy 800 and 1,200 work differently. I have a Legacy 800 on order, and am really excited to get my hands on this thing!
Still want one and I’m definitely getting one, just seems weird it’s advertised as 500 watts but max is 450.
That's an odd one for sure there must be some reason but I can't see what it is perhaps they wanted to be able to use 3 1x12s.
So I have been talking with Jason Finely via email. He gave me a little info on these and the power ratings. The Legacy 1200 has an interesting little trick up its sleeve. So the 1200 has two independent power amps with channel one and channel two yielding a rating of 400 watts each at 8 ohms and 600 watts each at 4 ohms which is similar to the GB Shuttle Max 12.0 but here is where the interesting twist is, if you only use channel one at 4 ohms you get 800 watts instead of 600 watts. This is a very nice little twist. So in this sense it's like a legacy 800 but if you need real horsepower with two sets of four ohm cabs you can step it up to 1200 watts. Very Cool GK!
And let me add you get 950 IIRC with a 4 ohm on one side and 8 ohm on the other. I think this is feeding equal amounts of power to drivers accordingly.

Per my conversation with Jason the target was three 8 ohm loads for this amp. Which is kind of cool but a little on the different side. Certainly we all know three 8 ohm 12" drivers or six 16 ohm 10" drivers is going to yield a heck of a lot of SPLs from an amp that isn't very expensive. This may be the target here. Though an odd type of amp setup it does offer a very different choice to us bass players.
So think about this little rig (it's taken me a minute to rap my head around this). I have a pair of 1x12 vintage GK cabs and use them primarily with my GK MBF500 head. It's pretty darn stout at 500 watts at 4 ohms no doubt and I play a lot of gigs with this setup. Now imagine I had three of these cabs, with the Legacy 500 I could now add another driver and great increase the rigs ability for more SPLs. Its an interesting combination for sure.
