New GK Legacy Amplifier Line

Any updates?
So I absolutely love it. It sounds, to my ears, just like my old 400rb which has passed after 20 years. The overdrive channel is awesome. If you use the drive low it sounds so alive. Now I have to say it’s stupid loud. The 400rb was 200watts and super loud now this is just madness. I couldn’t see in my case every putting the master over 10 oclock.

Thank you for the updates. Glad you are enjoying the amp.

I am having a similar experience with the 1200. Stupid loud indeed.

I'm still messing with the little switches, but so far I like it with the low and high rolled off a touch, with a hint of drive added.

Can anyone speak to the effects loop? I gather from the site description that the drive is footswitchable but is the effects loop also switchable or is it an always on situation?

Also, any more impressions of the drive? The GK demo sounds like it retains low end pretty well even at higher settings.

I'm eagerly waiting for the combos to be announced. I've almost pulled the trigger on a MB212 several times and a 212 Legacy 500 combo would probably fit my needs perfectly.

I have the legacy 800 and I’m really digging it. It does come with a single foot switch just for the overdrive, and the switch needs to be in up position for the foot switch to control.

The drive section is really easy to use, and it gives it a similar tone to the old RB’s. The drive knob gives it saturation, level knob gives the output volume, and edge seems to be almost like a low pass filter, where having it far left gives you warmth and far right gives you aggressive crunch without losing lows. I did have to bump up some bass and low mids. Every bass will be different though.

Besides that, the power feels so big and it is quiet. I love the fact they have 2 fans with plenty of open slots for air to move and not hearing a whining fan. I would still need to A/B the legacy800 to my 800RB, but I couldn’t complain even if I wanted to. I might get a fusion version later on.

Nice! Sounds like it's a beast! I hope one of my local guitar shops will get one in soon so I can check one out.

to kind of reactivate an old thread... :) :

Is anyone else experiencing white noise issues with their gk legacy heads?

My 1200 just arrived and I love it but there is a constant white noise coming through my speakers. The cabinet is fine btw, used it with other heads and there's no issue.

I would really like to keep it but this little problem makes me think I might better return it and try smth else.. :(

Where do you have the input trim set? It should be set to max without clipping.
