New Glockenklang Head - Blue Sky

Charlie (Passinwind) responded that many are and many aren't.

One thing for sure, the Blue Soul and Heartrock II are definitely more even and pure than the original Heartrock I owned (and really didn't dig that much). So, it will be interesting to hear if this one is, well, I don't know what. Can't really be much more even and low distortion. I guess maybe warmer or whatever.

Thats actually what the Blue Sky is. (well, almost....)
The Inputstage is very similar to that of the BAC.

I had the chance to compare the Blue Soul, Blue Sky and the BAC.

I will post my findings here later today or tomorrow.

Hello,

I'm quite pieced off. I've bought my Blue soul only a few months ago and now this is that new version... The semi-para eq is one of the thing I realy would like to have and is very useful to shape ones tone.

1300€ is a somme and I would have wait a few more months if I could have anticipate that coming change.

I know Glock proposed a modification to turn a Soul into a Soul2 when it came out so I hope the change will also be possible with the BS preamp. Crossing fingers.

It is NOT a new version. Just another lightweight head in the line. Just like the GKMB800 and GKMBF800. I'm sure players will find one or the other more to their liking.

Remember, you are giving up a 5 band EQ and getting a 4 band EQ with one of the band semi-parametric.

Just a different design, and IMO a nice addition to the BassArt line. Now, each line has a lightweight version. NICE!

From Glock's site, the new blue sky is in the same line as the Blue Soul (Bass ware line).

My guess is that it will replace the Blue Soul : same line, same price. So to me it realy looks like an upgrade.

And yes, it realy matters to me to have a very versatile para-eq band versus two bands I almost never use (500hz which don't work very well with a ash/maple JB and 4.2khz that I find a bit agressive).

My second guess is that, as you said it, Glock is listening to us since a lot of people, including you i think, in the original Blue Soul thread complained about the utility of that 500hz centered control for a traditionnal instrument.

IMHO of course.

Yeah, I thought it was a tweak/ upgrade also when it came out, but was told that is not the case. I can't see the reason to have both in the line other than the Blue Sky being much more expensive with a totally different build. If that isn't the case, I'm not sure what this is!

Who knows! Lots of unconfirmed info out there at this point.

On the English site it is listed under the Bass Line (Same line as the Bass Art Classic). I doubt this will be replacing anything, they even changed the color of the faceplate, my guess is to differentiate the two as they have identical layouts.

Based on early indications this is an amp with similar tonal properties to the Bass Art Classic, the first addition to the Bass Line product range in a while.

I will be getting one around February. :D

That's strange. First (on the german part of their site) it was placed as a 'Bass Ware Line' amp, next to the Blue Soul. Perhaps they read this forum and replaced it to the 'Bass Line' series where the Bass Art Classic is listed to avoid the idea this amp is a replacement of the Blue Soul or to avoid the impression this Blue Sky isn't of much better quality than the BS?

I'm guessing that that combination is probably the best portable setup out there for me sonically. I hope the 12 Art Box becomes available in the States as well. I haven't used an amp and cab from the same company in many years. Those two introductions may change that.

The Space Art box really is amazing! Until recently I gigged with two Acoustic Art Mk 1 cabs, which were also amazing, but extremely heavy (27 kgs each) and could not go very loud. Now a single Space Art suffices, which I use with a Bass Art Classic preamp and a Invalid Link Removed power amp, which I attached to the back of the Space art. This power amp delivers 2x500W @ 4 ohms, weights in at only 2.6 kgs and has a powerful, transparant sound.

I can imagine that a Blue Sky with a Space Art would be equally wonderful!
