The only complaint that I am aware of with the Blue Soul is the lack of upper midrange EQ capability (I've talked to Dan Lenard about this in detail). This seems to take care of that nicely. Glock seems to be listening to us!

Not enough of a thing for me to want to swap my Blue Soul out for, but nice 'tweak' based on customer feedback. Kind of like the Markbass LMII to III update, where they basically just added a DI level and pre/post control. Just a nice tweak based on customer feedback on an already almost perfect amp.

I'm one of the folks who complained about the mids being stuck at 500 Hz on the Blue Soul. I wonder if the mid circuit can be retrofitted to the Blue Soul. The control layout looks the same with a little cosmetic. The problem is I would have to take a loss to sell my Blue Soul to get the Blue Sky.

I'm getting a bit picky here, but the key for me is how they did this. IF they just replaced the 500hz and 4K with one semiparametric mid, and kept the treble at 12K shelving (which is pretty useless for me anyway), I would actually be losing something, since those are the two controls I use most (boosting the 4K a bit and cutting the 500 hz a bit). My guess, is, that is exactly what they did.

If I could only do one or the other, not good IMO. Also, to get that EQ section flat (or at least sounding like the bypassed mode) you must boost both the 500K and 4K by 3db or so. Replacing those two well voiced EQ center points with only a single semi-parametric mid would be an 'even trade' for some at the most, and actually a loss of EQ power for some.

So, that would be key for me. The class of the preamp... might or might not make a difference I guess, and the difference might or might not be to the positive.

Again, a strange marketing decision, so maybe more going on with this that what seems like relatively minor changes/trade-offs.

On a german bass forum, they actually say that the preamp is completely different from the blue soul - class A with much more sonic detail and overdrive dynamics. This is the main new feature of the blue sky (besides the mid control).

Interesting. The last thing I associate with the BassARt line is 'overdrive dynamics'. Sounds like a bit of a 'new thing under the sun'. Can't wait to try one!

It's now on the german part of their site. In the 'technischen daten' you can see that they chose 8K for the highest freq tone control. Hmmm... a bit too high for my taste.
Very curious to the sound of the class A preamp compared to my BLue Soul though!

I will probably be buying this amp sometime early next year.

If the front end of this is designed to be closer to the BassArt then I am sold. I just need to confirm that they actually designed it with that intent.

I am a little curious though, they list the class A topology of the input stage as though it is a special feature.. Aren't most input stages class A?
