Yeah, the switch is for active/passive. I was talking about the stacked knobs, which give this bass a total of six knobs, as compared to the five that other Ibanez have. As I suspected, the additional knob is a mid sweep control.

Yes, I bought an Allen Holdsworth headless guitar years ago and the grooves developed. I sent it back to Carvin (not Kiesel yet) and they replaced it.... only to have the grooves come back a few months later. It wasn't exceptionally noticeable, but an issue that plagued their early headless designs.

It's weird that it happened on the Vader too because, unless I'm remembering wrong, that model has always had SS frets

What... 3.0 kg..???

I realized woods would varies in weight, but I had thought mine would weigh 3.0 kg like yours, or even less. Not 400 grams heavier like this:

Even my SRH505 (3.0 kg) and SRF705 (3.3 kg) weighed less than my EHB1005MS...

I would say that 3.4kg is still nothing to scoff at! My main 5 string is over 4kg!

Yeah... Actually it is still lighter than my current main too (a BTB single cut 5er weighed at 4.3 kg). It's just, I've been spoiled by my 3.0 kg SRH505 in the last few gigs.

I've two bass with zero fret

I’m still surprised these don’t have a zero fret.

And one withouth. Zero fret is confortably in medium action for a lower action a normal string bar is better.IMHO
