I wasn't crazy about the low B in the TheBassChannel video (I generally dont like their tone in demos), but I liked it everywhere else.

Hopefully those 1305s come in around sub 9lbs as well.

I love the knob layout. Super logical and simple to me.

I would've liked to see neck reinforcement at this price as others have mentioned, but its not a major deal to me.

The 6 string apparently has neck reinforcement:

Can someone explain to me how you use the master tone knob? In relation to the treble knob. What is the difference between those two and why do you need two knobs for treble/tone? I want to understand because not many basses have that.

The treble rolls off differently. Different frequencies are being impacted. Plus in a lot of active/passive setups you're stuck with no tone is passive mode.

I had a bass with an Aguilar OPB-1 and a passive tone. I liked the attack I got from boosting the treble, but it was a little too harsh for me, so i would take the tone knob down a bit to tame it.

I doubt it does anything in active mode, but if it does, then it functions similarly, overriding the individual preamp tone controls.

Gregor played in his very early videos and is totally capable just not flashy. I think he just prefers working with people with higher levels of skill

Ads get views, not lessons on II-V-I’s, this is true. As I’ve learned from experience, it’s always easier to buy stuff than it is to sit down and learn.

Gregor can so-so, but there is a “tone talk” to skill ratio that made me lose interest a long time ago. It’s not a sin to be a marketer more than a musician, but…

I thinks its awesome. Volume, Volume, Tone and a 3 band EQ with a two flavor switch on front and back.
This thing will work on everything from old school to super modern. From Raggae to EDM and Metal.

They both control the high frequency content but in different ways. The passive tone knob controls the cutoff frequency of a lowpass filter, so everything above the frequency that you set gets filtered out. The active treble control is a high shelf control, it boosts or cuts everything above a fixed frequency (see the charts on the product page).

I don't think so. When I saw the blacked out poles I was hoping for this, but they look like standard fixed poles. And, unfortunately IMO, the poles under the middle strings aren't raised at all for ideal string-to-string balance. That's my preference, but in fairness, Ibanez basses seem to have good balance anyway. (I'm curious about the dimensions of the five-string's pickups, because if they're four-string sized--about 95mm and 91mm--the aftermarket options are more limited.)

Good looking bass, reminds me of the quality basses Bacchus makes, but why do they make something so nice and then go with uninspiring Fender unfinished headstock look?
Completely ruins it for me.

Funny that this 4 string bass tone sound pretty alike my Bacchus BJB1RSM which has roasted maple neck too.
