Here are sound samples of several Tube Preamp/DI boxes. Since I have these on hand I figured I should put something out there for people to hear each of them. I am not a sound engineer... but hopefully these clips will be beneficial. I will admit this isn't perfect. If nothing else, it is a good start and I am open to recording more clips.

I heard a slight difference between the full and the mini, but to me the mini was my favorite. A little brighter in a very natural way, and I felt like the low end was less boomy but no less full.

Did some tube rolling with the Khan Mini today. I have a few 12AU7 variants laying around so first tried an old GE 12AU7 and then an old 60’s Siemens Silver Plates ECC82.

The GE maybe sounded a little less big in the mids (little more scooped). The Siemens sounds very nice. More mid prominent and maybe a little wider sounding. But neither are really all that much different than the JJ ECC82 stock in the Khan. But fun nonetheless.

Yes! That's true. Obeid designed that bad boy while at Ampeg. I used one of those for several years prior to getting the OG Khan branded DI.

Been testing this protoype and pretty fond of it. Obeid Khan is back at it working on a smaller form factor.
This one runs off 9 volts and just over 500ma making it much more pedalboared friendly. I've been powering it off a single port on a CIOKS DC7 no problem.

It's approximately 4"x5". Here's a pick of the prototype beside a production standard size.

Here's some audio.
First round is a jazz bass in passive (no eq) straight to console for reference.
Second round is the original Khan DI box.
Third round is the new mini Khan DI box.

Note: I had to gain up the first round bass only in passive due to it being low output to match the default output of the Khan DI boxes which naturally thicken up the output. Therefore you do hear added noise in the first round.

How tall it is? Wondering if it can be mounted under a pedal board?
