Hey all.
I'm Stan and I've been playing bass since elementary school. I'm a youth pastor in the Pacific Northwest and right now I'm starting up and playing guitar (yes, I said it!
) in a blues band here (we're still in the practice stage, but hope to be gigging soon). I currently own a custom fretless 4-string and hope to get a fretted MM soon. (after the baby's born.)

Post often............I certianly have. I just kinda keep Talk Bass in the background when I'm doing any college work on the PC, and reply when something comes up. So its not taking over my spare time yet

I've played more or less actively for 4 years. I used to play the classical guitar for 11 years but then i noticed bass is much more fun. That's what you get when you start too young (4-year-old).

I have been browsing the forums for a while now and I finally decided to become a member. I am 17 and I have been playing for about 3 years. My gear is an Ibanez SR400, MIM fretless jazz bass, Zon Sonus Custom 5, Fender Frontman 25B, Crate BX100, Boss Octave pedal, EBS BassIQ, and Electro-harmonix Big Muff.

im not really new, i joined last summer because my mate daveclark69 (should be daveclark5 i think ) told me to!
anyway, i have been playing for about 7months now, and would consider myself competent, i am in a band blah blah blah.

Well, I might as well join in. My name is Real_Beer, I mean Bill. Been playin Bass for about 12 years, play in church, play in bands, play at parties, at least until I drink to much Real Beer, you know the kind with higher alcohol. Favorite beer is Wheatbeer of the German verity. Play an old Guild Bass, and an Ibenz SR400 through an Ampeg B2R, Avatar cabinets, cheap, but sound good. Just now starting to experiment with home recording/midi thing, did get a BpodXT pro to help out with experimentation. Well, TGIF and enjoy the weekend.

I currently own an old (20 years) Vantage X-99. It's a four strings and I really like it even it weights like 300 pounds! haha!
I just ordered a brand new ESP LTD f-255 (blue). I was looking for an affordable 5-strings with a great metal look and I got it. What I don't like is that I wasn't able to try it before buying and I took a guess after trying the f-254.

Hi all just decided to join acouple of weeks ago myself. Ive been playing bass for about a year now. I currently play at my church and will eventually want put a band together and play some spots in NYC (thats where I live) I have a 6 string Samic artists series a 4 string rogue (dont laugh it was my first bass) a 4 string 84 squire bullet, but I currently play with an I banez SRX705 - which Im not that happy about- I just order a MIA 5 deluxe Jazz - which I am happy about- There you have it.
What's up, I'm the new newb here.

I play a pre-Gibson Tobias Growler 5 string with DR Lowriders. It does everything I need with the flip of a switch and a knob turn.
Just picked up a Mesa Boogie 400+, Powerhouse 4X10, and a Powerhouse 1X15. Let me tell you I'm lovin it! It took me a long time and a lot of testing to make that decision and I think I compared just about everything I could get my hands on.
I have a BBE 362 on the way. I'm still looking for / trying to decide on a good compressor and rack tuner, bass balls, or multi fx unit (TC, Rocktron, ADA MB-1) so if anybody is selling one...
