Hiya guys. I'm a 19-year old bass player from Stockholm, Sweden. I'm big fan of the playing of Paul Jackson(who would have guessed), Anthony Jackson, James Jamerson, Chuck Rainey, Larry Graham, Rocco and just about evryone who's got the funk. I'm a Fender guy, playing my sunburst '62 Jazz reissue with stacked knobs as I write this. Been playing for almost seven years now. Well, that's me.
Hey! So i'm this one drummer from spain who has always wanted to play the bass and never got down to it, but just a couple of days ago i found this forum, posted, and u guys convinced me!
so today i got me bass
and started practicing!
aside from drumming i Road bike, really enjoy driving (FAsT), hifi equipment, and music!

Thanks for the invite Will-I just discovered and love this site. I've been playing bass in a band since about 66-mostly a Fender P-bass till I recently found that an Ibanez SR900 AVF fit my smallish hands better. I started off with love for delta blues-and still do-but I love all music so much that we just have to combine it all in our current band...I never get tired of playing-I love to practice -by my self, or with my"mates",or playing for a crowd-and I love to listen to music,to talk about it, and to create it-(I just filled out my profile to further introduce myself)... music is what makes my life full of bliss...Peace...Da Cat.Blackbird said:I can't help but notice that the ranks of TalkBass increase day by day . Hello All,
I'm a guitarist, keyboardist, singer, songwriter that has recently built a killer home studio, and found this great community during my search for a top notch bass guitar to lay tracks with. I have learned a ton of info from the folks here and think my search for the bass is almost complete, but plan on sticking around a while to continue to learn from you. I must admit, I never knew how cool bass was until I started paying attention!!

I have spent a ton of time on music forums learning and gathering info during the process of building the studio. Some of the forums I frequent are Recording.org, Larrivee Guitar Forum, Acoustic Player Magazine, and Apple Logic Pro 7 forum... And I am "AcousTronic" on every one.

Hello. My name is Ben, i play the bass without a pick, i play 2 four strings and on five string bass guitars, im trying to learn to play upright and well i like to make sounds with my boomie in my Indie Rock band and the jazz band or a jazz combo if i can.

My names Dan... I'm an Electrical Engineering Student at Syracuse University going on my Junior year with at 3.41 Cummulative GPA (The 3.8 last semester helped out a bit)
I currently play for a so-so cover band Link Removed
I say so-so because our guitar player is pretty awful, but the rest of us can carry a tune quite well
I'm looking to get into playing a lot of bar gigs, kind of being 'freelance' so to speak... not really sure how to get my name out there
Study's come first, but I honestly love playing Bass... I'm not one of those "I want to be famous" people... I really just love playing and listening to all sorts of basslines and enjoying music
If I were to find the right group of fellows who have the same appreciations as I do, that would be optimal... but until then, I'm going to enjoy this bar scene while it lasts

Hi: I am Marshall 54 yr old from Erie Pa....I studied bass for 4 years but with a poor teacher 
and now i study with Rob at World of Music and he is teaching me scales and chords and will have me playing good in a year and maybe in a year to three years I can start playing gigs part time...I would love to play semi-pro... 
but time will tell I will enjoy practicing and studying and taking lessons now that I have a good teacher....

I write from Madrid (Spain), I am not a real specific "bass player", I like to make music in general, my instrument is the guitar, I also sing but most of all I record songs at home (sometimes jingles for the radio).
I think that my bass is the weakest part of my "equipment". I have a Fender imitation (Korean I think) that is called "Legend", it sounds like crap and it is not easy playable so I'm looking for a brand new one right now.

I play in 2-4 Worhips teams at my church (depending on how reliable the other players are) and in a Christian hard pop/ rock band on the side.
I have been playing 3 years, 2 of them seriously.
I need LOTS of theory help, as I know NOTHING about it, and play by feel... not by ear.. just by feel. I really should take lessons or something

Hey i have been here for like 5 months or something like that, and i just now found this tread so, HI everyone ummmmmmmm i got a fender jazz MIM, yamaha bass, Gallien Kruger amp, digitech bp200 multi effect pedal, digitech synth wah pedal, crybaby wah pedal.

I just want to play lots and get good. Oh, and buy all the shiny things.
