So maybe have these two tones both from the WD800, without the addition of an alternate EQ source? I used to have an Mpulse 600, and I thought the "Solo" footswitch was a nice option. I'm wondering if this footswitch can be used that way -- switchable between Tone A and Tone B?

I use the foot switch for both EQ bypass and mute all the time. The nice part is that your HPF, Bass, Passive Mid and Treble stay in tact during bypass. You can dial in a completely different tone with the parametric and then bypass it for your "natural" tone. I do this when switching between my Sadowsky and P bass quite often. Mute switch is handy when you want to quickly put your bass down or switch basses.

I don't have it easily at hand but I believe it's included in the manual.

There isn't much about that amp that you'd need to know to get the most out of it that you can't find in the manual - whether you're a technical/specs oriented person or just want to know what the controls do tone/sound-wise. It's not just a coincidence that the WD-800 manual reflects a lot of thought about the types of questions TB members typically ask and discuss here in this forum...agedhorse was listening carefully!

Wow, every time I read these bass related wattages I'm being more scared about humans. Recently I've been gigging more than ever, always with an Aguilar TH350+SWR Goliath 4x10 4 ohms and EVERY soundtech ask me to turn down the master to where I barely here myself (10-11 o'clock) during soundschecks. Don't questioning yours or anyone needs at all, just I can't imagine a situation where 1200W are needed

I hear what you're saying. From what I've followed on here the clean headroom the 1200w provides is what people are after for the lead sled feel.
