New Metallica album. Thoughts?

Haven't heard it, don't have any intentions of hearing it and don't really care.

Lars Ulrich is a major jerk and sucks at playing drums (I played with drummers who would be able to play circles around him, just to put things in perspective.) and James Hetfield is not too good either.

They can't come up with anything new and just circles around like vultures of the corpse that once was Metallica to extract the last money they can squeeze out of that concept.

The last decent record they made was ...and justice for all, and that despite Lars Ulric didn't think we deserved to be able to hear Jason's bass.

The stuff they made from there is as good as anything on Mc Donald's menu card, you might as well pick up a Justin Bieber record, it's no better, a product made for them and their record company to earn more money, no more.

That's my honest thoughts about Metallica and their new record!

Also Lars Ulric ought to put down that Danish flag on his drums, I am ashamed of him representing my country!

It's quite some riddle what ever Robert Trujillo see in that band, he's a killer bass player and seem like a really nice down to earth kind of guy as well, but I guess they pay him well.

I guess if someone payed me millions to be a laughing stock, I would consider it as well, even if I could do way better musically.

So......you haven't heard it, don't want to hear it, and have no intention of ever supporting the band because you no longer like them.

Seems like they remembered, kinda, how to make a Metallica record. As far as that goes it's not bad, but I'm not a fan anymore, their music isn't where I am these days.

Yeah.

The tittle says: New Metalica Album. Thoughts?, and what I did was sharing my thoughts about Metalica and their new album.

So saying that I think James Hetfield is almost as big a jerk as Lars Ulric, completely invalidates my credibility with you?

I don't quite understand how...

Anyway, I was at a Metalica concert once, and he would sing out of tune half of the time.

But ok, if you think that's a super quality in a professional singer, then I suppose I was wrong in your eyes.

I think its just weird that a lot of people keep bringing up Metallica's age. No one brings that up about the bands I mentioned, about Testament releasing probably their heaviest album this year, or about bands like Napalm Death and Carcass (who are close to Metallica in age) still being heavier than most bands could dream of.
How did Metallica get saddled with the "dad metal" name?

I'm a weird way it's a compliment. The more popular (commercially successful) you are the more haters come out of the woodwork. Those other bands aren't hated on as much because they aren't as relevant to pop culture. People aren't talking about their ages in massive numbers because they aren't talking about them AT ALL inassume numbers.

It's the bands strongest effort since the black album. Overall, it's a good album with a few strong songs. Namely "spit out the bone".

The only two metal album I was really into this year were Gojiras magma and Deftones Gore. Everything else I heard I could take it or leave it.

You are making stuff up.

What I did write:

The last part of the sentence could mean 3 things:

-James is not much better than Lars when it comes to being a jerk

-James sucks almost as much as singer

-James sucks almost as much as rhythm guitarist

I didn't specify exactly which of the three options I did mean or if I meant all of them, maybe I should have, but either way you saying I definitely meant he was bad at playing guitar is your imagination playing tricks with you.

What I actually did mean, and maybe should have specified, was the first option.

He is not too good a singer either though (I guess he is good on recordings for what he does, his voice and style fits Metallica and the kind music they make just fine. But as I said, since I experienced so myself, he is apparently not the most stable one, in the sense that he hasn't got enough control over his talent as singer to hit the right notes all of the time. He might have had a bad day, or he might not have been able to hear his vocal sufficiently in his monitor. Still this should not happen as a proffesional singer on that level)

I guess he is a decent rhythm guitarist though.

How did Metallica get saddled with the "dad metal" name?

Seeing Testament in April along with Sepultura and only paid $25 for a ticket and the day after anthrax will play the same venue. I hope my ears can handle all that noise.
