New Metallica Song " My Apocalypse"

+1/2

i agree they need to throw in the towel, but it's far far too late to save any sort of face. their earlier works stand as testament to their inimitable place in metal history, but every turd they've laid since the black album has dragged them further and further away from the possibility of redemption. they've gone from being thrash-metal pioneers to a really heavy spice girls.

metallica is a mockery of a sham of an embarrassment. they're essentially Kiss, now.

edit: don't bother flaming, i'm busy listening to bands that are doing interesting things with their music
Could you name some bands that are doing interesting things with their music? Seriously, I am starved for good tunes. I've been looking for something heavy, I was hoping Metallica would fill that void for a while but.......nada.
The last band that I heard that I thought had some cool heavy stuff was "Brand New Sin," but the singer started getting to me.
Basically I just hate everything right now, Metallica didn't help it any either.

What is this? I guarantee you that if they came up with an actual good song that did sound like what they did before they would still get bad criticism. People are just biast to the band and nothing the band does now will satisfy anybody no matter how hard they try.

Its a non issue of good vs bad songs anymore this is an issue of people hating new metallica.

This song is not bad.

Droid. Heavy Band with lot's good timing and articulate stops. Like Pantera but heavier.

Been in my player on rotation for a while.

Uhm, I suppose you do not like thrash metal? This IS the justice album, this song is to me what dyers eve should've been!

I can't understand how you can find this song anywhere similar to ...And Justice For All. I liked some songs on St. Anger despite their terrible recording, but all the songs I've heard so far are tripe. Commercial, faux-old school, terrible songs with no semblance of songwriting talent and a bassist that doesn't at all fit the ethos of the band. If they'd picked Pepper Keenan from CoF they might have gone in a more interesting direction. Few people consider how much the bassists influenced Metallica's music... Both Cliff and Newstead were big influences even if you couldn't hear them, and they fit Metallica on stage, not this squatting dub playing lunkhead. :hiding: Sorry Trujillo, I loved you in Suicidal Tendencies.

If this album is as poorly mastered as I hear then I won't be buying it - not that I would considering the calibre of songs released so far. I wish Hetfield had known when to quit. At least he could have started a new band with all the same members and avoided pooping on the name of Metallica.

Did you just noticed that? :eyebrow:
Lars has always played like that, and everybody seemed to like it before :smug:
They're good but new ideas are passing them by, they need to get Mustaine back in the fold IMO.

Mustaine? If you think Metallica are ghosts of their former selves, look at him, He's gone totally off of the deep end.

This track does bear a resemblance to Slayer, I don't know if I dig that for them. At least Lars lost the trash cans.

maybe what he was saying..and what i was saying is there is INFLUENCES from justice.. not SOUNDING the same

Wow, that was like a weak mix of Harvester of Sorrow, Blackened, and Dyers. All it needed was Kirk to bust out his wah pedal for the solo and it would have been complete!
Sadly to me, the song was just a generic old copy of themselves with uninspiring bass.

there might be some influence from justice in there... along with some influence from nickelback, the white stripes and the first two thrash songs my band ever wrote (which obviously sucked, since we had a singer, a guitarist, and a drummer and no experience or talent).

honestly it sounds like everything else and is not at all metal. hard rock, maybe. alternative, probably. alternative to awesome.

Megadeth's latest CD ripped!

ripped OFF, maybe. mustaine's already wussy voice singing in french with a chick? what is this, nightwish gone amateur? pathetic imo.

i'm going back to Death, Bolt Thrower, and Sabbath... The state of thrash metal today is sad and I'm jumping genres.
