I spent the money on the family.

Plus I have a custom bass I ordered in February that's due this month.

Right now I'm thinking about a stealth one (black and rosewood).

I'm also thinking there maybe some other color options in the future...

I was in my local Guitar Center over the weekend and learned that the chain is going to stop selling MTDs. They had a 4-string Artist marked down to $449. (GC also is eliminating Schecter.)

The Artist--in amber--played beautifully. I'd never picked one up before. I couldn't believe how light the action was. Felt almost like I was cheating!

I'm thinking about building a ramp between the pickups for mine (5-string, maple fretboard, tobacco sunburst finish). I'm just not sure what to make it out of. The obvious choices are:

• Flat Sawn Maple (like the fingerboard)
• Basswood (like the body)
• Ebony (or a black plastic)
• Transparent Plastic

What do you think would blend with the bass (i.e. look like it's part of the bass design, not just an after thhought) the best?

I think Maple would be cool, or some sort of dark material like Ebony, black plastic, etc. Basswood wouldn't make much sense to me unless is was satined the same color as the body, which would be tough to do.
