New mxr bass distortion!

I guess we got ours because we're closer ;) Well I'm sure it won't be long now that it's out here.

Getting a little annoyed at not being able to find a specific role for the Bass D...actually I'm just getting frustrated at bending over all the time. I'm leaning toward just letting it be a Rat and do a little harder sound between Motown and Muse. But dang does it do a good Motown when I roll the tone knob off on my Precision, and even though I have pedals that can do that already, this one really excels at it. Oh well...real first world problem here ;) Been a fun couple weeks experimenting with it, but time to get back to business and settle on something.

Having a similar experience. It definitely booted my muff, which I actually never used in a live setting. I do think it's a very versitile distortion pedal. But I'm also spending a lot of time messing with it, exploring its various sweet spots.

tried to upload my feedback looping no diode rat tail demo from my instagram account, file has wrong extension or something
anyway if you look up michaelpatrickdee on instagram it's the black and white video
i'm playing a g&l lb100 into a mesa d180 and i am still very impressed that the rat tail keeps the mesa tone intact, i use it more
like a channel switcher and i use the feedback loop for some of the JAMC, Electric Wizard, and Nirvana covers

Not sure if there is anything in the octave up market that actually sounds like a guitar, but the Pitch Fork is probably the closest I've come.

I used it on a lot of songs where I usually use a clean sound just because I can, and it was perfect every time. It put just enough of itself in the mix to where you could tell it was on for the mild stuff, and when I cranked it to fuzz, it had this big bottom end with a fuzz that wouldn't fall out of the mix at all. And yes, I listened in the PA as it was a small room and we did a lot of wacky stuff on the dance floor. And it turns out that as long as you have the blend knob up halfway and don't go too overboard with the dirt and wet levels, you absolutely can totally go from mild to full on fuzz with the dials and not screw the mix. Our soundman hates distortion on bass but loved how it sounded tonight.

Moved some pedals online and just picked up my M85 today! I haven't been this excited about a pedal in a long time. The long struggle of trying to get my LM308 Rat to work without cutting low end is over!

I play in a doom/sludge band and a scummy heavy rock band so I think this thing will be perfect! Trying it out with the doom band tonight!
