New Nickelback album

A few reasons that I dislike nickleback
Lead singer sounds like he is singing while taking a dump
All their songs sound the same (well the ballads all sound the same and all the other songs sound the same)
They sound like every other band on the radio
Every 5 songs on the radio are one of their songs
Chad is a douche
There are more, but I wont bother waisting any more of your time. Also, isn't Chad in jail right now? How did they record?

Normally I would take this opportunity to remind the OP that music related threads do not belong in OT.

I do not approve of insulting the fans.
I believe everyone is free to listen to whatever they want.
But if you read the posts from people in this thread why they dislike Nickelback you must understand the arguments. You don't need to agree with it.
The majority judges Nickelback on their music and not on their image. And most people think their music is kinda dull, repetetive, generic,...
I'm not jealous of them, if they do are doing what they like and make a good living with it, more power to them.
I love how the contribute to the music industry as an "example" like Rick Astley, Milli Vanilli, and such are used as an example argument in a discussion about music.
And you think the critique on Nickelback is hateful? Try a topic on Dragonforce or Fieldy (Korn).
Nickelback "bashers" are rather polite compared to that.

anywho, Mike's tone is crushing on the new disc, and for the record, all of the 'picked' songs were done with his EMG-HZ equipped Spectors, some of the fiinger stuff was done with some Custom Shop Fenders I believe and maybe some other fun but Shuu would be the guy to PM about that as he's Mike's tech.
now back to giving a damn about a good band and letting the little whiners post why they hate Nickelback.
and for the record, Chad isn't a "douche" he's a decent guy.

1) as far as the link that was posted, you'd be surprised at how many bands write similar songs like that. there is a reason these songs are hits.
2) but anyway, anytime this band is mentioned, i have to post this pic.

Come on, there must be an artist or band you dislike.
Don't you feel better sometimes if you can post your opinion and give an argument just why a band sucks.
Or do you follow the principle: if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.

ok, just to keep context. by slagging a band that the OP has said he likes and is psyched about, those that come around "bashing" the band in question are in turn insulting the OP and his taste in music so don't gimme the bs of "as long as we don't go insulting each other" such a cop out :scowl:
if you're going to have the "balls" to write a little diatribe about how you HATE a certain artist/band/human being then bud, get the balls to deal with what you're typing. 99% of this would not be said if it had to be face to face with the people in question. period. it's called if I can dish it I had better well be able to put the big boy pants on and take it as well.
all of this "it's just the internet" and "don't take t so seriously" well then why would anyone give a flyin' eff if I retorted to someone who's talking out of their @$$ in the first place?
so ya. feel free to type what you feel, also be grown up enough to take criticism of it and differing opinions of it.

I think what Psychicpet is getting at is that the thread was started by someone who does like Nickelback and was not a thread about the personalities in the band. Yes freedom of speech and all that but if a thread is started by a "fan" about a group/player who i don't like then I stay out of the thread. What's the point of jumping into bash. It is sort of disrespectful to de-rail the OP's original intention. Not trying to be a do-gooder or anything like that and yes it is the internet but a little respect is not a bad thing. Now if this thread had been about the personalities of the band then it's a free-for-all.
As I said in my previous post I wonder how many of the bashers would trade places with any member of Nickelback if given the chance.
I wouldn't trade places with anyone in that band, well maybe Chad, then I wouldn't have to deal with him while in the band. Even then I doubt that I would.

Although I think I did not insult insult the Nickelback fans with my previous posts (if I do so then I'm sinserely sorry), I am guilty of stating my anti-opinion.
And by taking part of the derailing I guess I am guilty of passive agressive behavior, by destructing the intention of the OP.
And thus preventing other Nickelback fans posting about the actual topic. (The release of the album.)
A thread title with Nickelback in it is an eyesore to the people on the board who don't like Nickelback it seems. I'm only human and I couldn't resisted posting.
