Yours will be finished before mine starts, so I'll definitely have to check it out. Heck, you know I'd want to check it out anyway--we missed you at the last GTG!
Me, too. Also getting a Mono guitar bag for it, which should be nice for headless basses and guitars.

These are not switchable like the quad coils, right? Just have to be wired the way you want prior?
They are essentially two Big Singles in one case, and they can be wired up/switched between series, parallel, or either coil selected.

As Mike Z said, you can wire the dual coils as you like - you get 4 conductors plus separate ground. In addition, I imagine they could do a quad coil version as a custom order.

Finished this one up over the weekend. Yes, I am badgering my son to help me with sound clips. Stay tuned. 
PS - that thing in the cavity is the Audere noise cancelling preamp which uses phantom coils and some other magic circuits. It is AMAZING! Works exactly as advertised - all the tone without the hum/noise.

Mike, we need to talk pickups, I'm still trying to determine what I want on my next Drake too, these Big Man are starting to get my attention.
Dave, I love the *idea* of a 1-pickup bass with a BigMan in the sweet spot, but practically speaking I've never been totally happy with 1-pickup basses in the long run, so I'll almost certainly end up with a pair of Nordstrand Neo Blades. I may change my mind if I get a chance to play spade's first, though!
I'm trying to decide on a new pickup for my Stingray. I am torn between the 4.2 and the Bigman, both would be used with the Nordie 2B preamp. I don't know anything about pickup construction. What are the tonal differences between the two? What would sway me to one side or the other?
Well, the 4.2 is basically Carey's attempt to reproduce the old vintage pre-EB Stingray pickup, so if you're going more for the "classic" Stingray sound, that's probably the one to go for.
The BigMan is really a different beast. From what I've heard, it retains some of the basic Stingray character just because of its general size and construction, but being essentially two Big Single pickups stuck together, it's got bigger magnets and a lot more wire than the standard Stingray pickup, so it's going to be hotter and more powerful.
