New "organ" pedal - EHX B9

You know - I don't know what I was thinking. I went back and looked at the Picts and videos and yup they are all white. I totally had black stuck in my mind.
You're not alone. Black is stuck in my mind, too. Glad you like it. Just goes to show, I'll have to test one out myself to know whether it's right for moi.
Here it is sitting on the guitar hoard. Pretty sure it's getting moved pretty soon back to the bass board.

Seriously. It's supposed to suck in reality so that I don't buy one. Just ordered an Arc Effects Klone V2 and I don't want to buy anymore pedals until at least next week!

im not sure why its a relatively common thing for guitarists to want to sound like an organ, but for what it is- a pedal- this comes pretty close. especially sustained notes.

Got mine today, not disappointed but it's definitely not perfect for bass. Tracks surprisingly well even down to the low F# string when played very slowly and carefully (not good enough for most music, but nice for some dronish growls) , mostly usable from A-> and near-perfect from G->. I won't be using mine on its own so I can work around the tracking problems. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this for a non-ERB player, as it's so much better on higher strings.

Ok I have had quite a bit of time with this pedal and I like it a lot. In a setting with guitar and drums we played songs like Whipping Post, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man and some others and the organ sound in the background is impressive. The tracking is good down to the low E. Add in the Strymon Lex and the sound is big and full. This is a keeper combination in my opinion.
yeps, that's me, sorry for the lousy video quality. Didn't had much time then, but wanted to make a video anyway, because there wasn't one on youtube with Bass yet.
I think mine might not be working properly. With the organ volume dimed, some of the modes are slightly above unity while others are well below. On the other hand, if I have the guitar volume dimed (and the organ volume off) it's just below unity. Most of the video demos I've seen have the organ volume below noon. I was going bass-->B9-->amp. I've just sent a note along to EHX, but I'm suspecting I might have a dud.
Drucocu, I thought that was great. MMQ, I'm curious to hear what EHX has to say about your B9. Keep us posted.
Got a canned response from EHX. They didn't bother to read my email. So whether it's broken or not, I'm afraid it's getting returned.
Sucks, but yeah, it does sound like it's broken; mine goes over unity around 10-11 o'clock.
