Sheesh! And I'm the one who always gets banned with this going on?

Let me explain something to you guys. He bought an expensive bass and it broke right out of the gate on him. Yeah, he overreacted, but he's right to complain about it, although I'd suggest he tone it down a little and realize it's not that big a deal and it can easily be fixed. Let the guy have his little moment, fer chrissakes!

Also, no need to take shots at his financial situation. Not everyone qualifies for those millionaire jobs you see advertised all over the place. And even those who have decent jobs have to struggle with getting disposable income enough to buy new gear. Maybe he's got kids, or an ex-wife, or both. Maybe jobs are scarce where he's at. I don't know enough about his situation to speculate, quite honestly. But I know there is this really angry mob mentality on Talkbass with a bunch of people who just can't wait to dump on someone else less fortunate than they are. And having been there, I think it's pretty crappy to dump on someone's financial situation.

Come on Jimmy, you just stated you don't know his financial situation (nor do any of us). If he's pulling $$$ from his family or something else that's more important, defective or not, shame on him...

...otherwise file under stuff happens. Fix the bass (and replace the keyboard) and move on...

...too much crying and complaining about small stuff...yes, I know it's an expensive bass, but unless it's your means of support, it's small stuff...

Hey, Fender invented the P-bass and you more than anyone should know that if they want to sell crap with no QC NOBODY is allowed to say anything. Blind praise is ALL that's permitted here for any Fender gear, but especially for P-basses and especially if ordered with flats and a tort guard! Hey, IT'S A FENDER for crying out loud. Who cares WHAT he paid. Leo said it, we believe it and that's all there is too it!

I do see where people tend to forgive fender for making a QC error and just jump at other brands like rickenbacker-truth is fender is great at making steaming piles of bass, the whole mod craze was born out of trying to make fenders "better". Personally I dont care for fenders much at all unless its j with a P neck or a PJ with a P neck.

Haha... oh man...what a goof ball. I agree with the OP, but he went about it all wrong. I would never pay all that for a fender anyway. Im not a fender kool aid drinker. They look like boat anchors and weigh just as much. Apparently this particular one sounds the same as one too lol.

I got a good laugh out of it, so thanks to the OP

To a small extent, I can understand his frustration. My GK head came with a broken power button, but at least it was broken in the "on" position. Still haven't fixed it. But, I do have a hard time believing he never plugged his new bass in, if for no other reason just to check it out. Come on now, who doesn't plug in new gear as soon as they get it (other than SARNA66)? His response to the situation doesn't sound like a 46 year old, more like 16. Life's too short to let stress ruin it.

Well, all kidding aside, sh*t DOES happen (or not).....:D

Case in point: Walk out on stage with my P-Bass, plug in and we go into the first song....nothing.....I look at the amp, everything is fine. Bass is plugged in but nothing. I'm freaking out. What the hell is going on here!?!?!?!

Seriously, I thought I was going to die, right then and there. Then I realize that the volume is off................:D

I glance over at the guitar player and he is laughing his ass off...:D

So much for "professionalism" :scowl:
