I agree that it is frustrating about not having a brand new bass completely not work...but +1 to ALWAYS TEST RUN a new bass BEFORE a gig, and... +1 to I think you are over-reacting just a tad and... +1 to using ALL CAPS LOCK on an email to ANY company looks like spam mail to them and most likely will be deleted before the first word is ever read.

Never take an untested axe to a gig. Good thing you brought a spare. Hope you had fun playing. :-)

I DID SEND THAT TO FENDER,1200 IS NOT ALOT OF MONEY TO SOME,BUT WHEN I PONY UP FOR AMERICAN QUALITY,I EXPECT TO GET IT.THEY WONT CARE ANYWAY-ILL TRY A REAL THUNDERBIRD THIS TIME AND SEE HOW THAT GOES.AS FAR AS GIGGING OUT,I HAD 2 OTHER BASSES THERE,IM JUST SAYING-IMAGINE THE FRUSTRATION OF BRINGING YOUR NEW BEAUTIFUL TOY,AND IT DOES NOT WORK

HAVE A BAD KEYBOARD HERE-AS FAR AS CAPS GO---CAME TO THE WRONG PLACE TO GET CHEERED UP-YOU GUYS JUST WANT TO KICK PEOPLE IN THE NUTS..

VERY COOL
LATER

Man, not kicking you in the nuts, but you really should have gave it a test run before taking it to a paying gig.

I'd have have been pissed off too, but it wouldn't have been at a gig...it would have been in my house.

+1. Stuff happens. I have had pickups die on Sadowsky and Roscoe basses. High quality manufacturers, but parts fail.

I don't think Fender QC is necessarily the issue, parts get jarred in shipping and solder can come unattached....

Say what you will about caps lock, 1200$ is way too much for a doa American bass. Patience is not what you are paying for, he'll its a p bass, the simplest and most strip down of all basses and it still didn't work out of the box.

I just found my Sunday morning humor. Not in the plight of the OP but this will all work out I'm sure. The replies are freakin' hilarious!! Love it.

Yeah the never plugged it in at home before getting to the gig thing was a no-no. Lesson learned I'm sure.
