Bass: resolved with a bit of time...and solder. Or take it to an authorized repair outlet and have it done for you, under the warranty.

Keyboard: visit WalMart and buy a(nother) Chinese keyboard for about $15...

bad grammar/spelling/punctuation: blame your teachers, they're probably MIA too...

bad attitude about (in the big picture) some really small stuff: well, there's only 1 person you can blame for that...

...and that's not easily resolved, and for this reason, does suck to be him.

I can't imagine not checking a new instrument before a gig . If you were to look under the hood you would see two pots , one cap , and the connections from pickup to output jack . It takes about three minutes to troubleshoot a Pbass .

+1. Stuff happens. I have had pickups die on Sadowsky and Roscoe basses. High quality manufacturers, but parts fail.

I don't think Fender QC is necessarily the issue, parts get jarred in shipping and solder can come unattached....

Calm down, i bet it's jarred solder too.
I read where this happen to John Mayer's famous Black Strat.

I'm confused. You bought this new P-bass and didn't even try it out at home, before plugging it in at your St. Patty's Day gig?

You didn't plug it in, didn't do a setup, didn't even play it...prior to your St. Patty's Day gig?

And when you plugged it in, nothing happened? You mean, it was dead silent?

Are you sure you didn't activate the "Mute" feature on your amp, prior to pluggin in at St Paddy's gig?

When you say you plugged it in, did you plug the cable into the amp or just the bass? Because, you know, you have to plug it into the bass and into the amp. Just saying

I feel bad for anybody who can't troubleshoot and repair a simple P Bass in 2 minutes. Buy a multimeter and a soldering iron, learn how to use them, bring them to every gig.

Wait, what?

Who needs 20 YEARS to save up for a $1,200 P-Bass? (Maybe the same kind of person who doesn't even PLUG IN the bass even ONCE before going on stage? )

If it takes 20 years to save up $1,200, I'd say a loose solder connection on a bass is the least of the OP's problems.
