The OP is blameless here (troll or not), and I've never heard of a solder joint breaking during shipping - not sure that is even possible. I have, on the other hand, heard of Fender shipping basses with bad pickups, and stores selling the same basses without making sure they work. But why should the OP have any expectation that his bass wouldn't make any sound at all right out of the box? Is that what you have come to accept from your favorite manufacturers?

BUT WHEN I PONY UP FOR AMERICAN QUALITY,I EXPECT TO GET IT.THEY WONT CARE ANYWAY-ILL TRY A REAL THUNDERBIRD THIS TIME AND SEE HOW THAT GOES.
