Most countries and companies have been metric for decades. The US is a notable holdout. If you want metric then teach your children to love it and wait for my generation to die off. It's not my fault but my contemporaries aren't gonna change.
(Liberia and Myanmar are the other 2 countries not using the Metric system)
Honestly I don't think it will ever change. If it hasn't changed by now I don't think it will. There will always be that older generation saying how great the metric system is. From what I've seen and from the few Americans I've met, it seems any sort of change is almost always regarded as a bad thing.
Fahrenheit is weird AF too.
